Great for young dogs also
We have been using the Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food and they were out of the 30# bag with my recent order. Although my dog is only 3 years old I ordered the +7 for senior dogs. I was told it is the same formula but has chondroitin added which never hurts! We found the kibble to be smaller which our dog loved. He actually is eating this better than he did the other version. He has pyloric stenosis (narrowing of his valve that goes between his stomach and colon) so it may be more comfortable for him to digest. Overall we are quite happy with the change.
Purina Pro Plan
Received Purina Pro Plan Senior dog food from Infuenster and am impressed. My dog is a food snob and he did not turn away from eating this. We will be feeding him this as soon as we're almost finished his food I currently use. He's supposed to eat 2x a day and dislikes the food he has, so I need to add wet food to it in order for him to eat. With the senior salmon and rice formula for sensitive stomach, he sniffs and eats immediately. I've tried so many brands as he is a picky eater.
Dog did not like
Chewy was out of stock from our usual Purina Pro we order - so, tried a new type of Purinia Pro. My dog did not like this particular one & would not eat it . Had to throw out the bags . Had to track down & buy from nearby pet store (too bad because I prefer using chewy). Chewy still out of stock/ size I need. Hope that changes soon.
My dog’s new favorite
The Purina ProPlan dry dog food became my dog’s new favorite food in no time. We’ve been feeding our dog mixed foods since the first day, so usually, he prefers wet foods vs. dry and doesn’t eat his dry food with the same appetite as the wet one. Well, it wasn’t the case here. As soon as I added it to his bowl- it was gone!! I love the size of it- not too tiny and not a bit. The smell is good and doesn’t stink up the whole house. The most crucial part is that my dog loves it and enjoys it.
My Picky dog
I recieved this product free for an honest opinion. I have 8 & 6 yr old labs. My 8 yr old is a picky eater. When I first offered him few pieces to try he was hesitant at first, once he tried it he seemed to like it. I then gave them a little mixed with their dinner time meal & they both seemed to enjoy it. This morning my 8 yr old had a few loose stools. I think it is a great idea for dog food to have specific foods for different stages in their lives, as well as any medical issues. I also like that this food had glucosamine and other vitamins & minerals that help with joint health. I would recommend this product to others.
Vet recommended and loving it
My rescued senior Boxer/APBT has a multitude of health issues, allergies (food & environmental), sensitive stomach, missing teeth and so on. We have tried a number of foods with no success. That is until our Vet recommended we try this. I was excited that it was a Senior formula AND grain inclusive but most importantly it was poultry FREE! Those combinations are hard to find except in the “boutique brands” that I don’t necessarily trust, nor can afford. I love that he is eager to eat and thoroughly enjoys his meals now. The kibble is easy for him to chew and the smell is not overwhelming as other fish based foods are. At this time, he has had no negative reactions to this product and we are thrilled. His shedding seems to have gotten better, his coat sheen is back, he isn’t feeling greasy anymore and he doesn’t smell like fish. My biggest concern is that this specific formula being discontinued. I hope it is not; even though there is an Adult formula, I prefer the analysis on the Senior formula. Fingers crossed this product is always available. I have reached out to Purina Pro Plan regarding my concerns and am awaiting a reply.
Purina changed the formula
My dogs are not happy with the change in formula and texture. They changed the texture from a shredded to a pellet in the kibble. They don't want to eat it. Also the food doesn't smell the same and my dogs turn up their nose at it. Even after 10 days of feeding it, they are still cautious in eating it
Pup loved it
My fella, 10 years old, seemed to love love love the taste! He ate every piece in the bowl. I did notice it made his poop a little softer than usual and changed the color unsure if that’s significant or not but hey now you know!
Doodle Approved!
Both of my doodles loved this formula! I would preferably use it for my older dog (11) since it’s a senior formula, and he also already has a grain and stomach sensitivity so this would be an ideal match. He also loved the taste! I would like to try a different flavor just because salmon can cause stinky breath.
Dry food that hits all the right marks
This hit all the marks for my boxer. 7+ years old, looking out for her joints, skin and coat and of course the ingredients to allow for easy digestion and a probiotic. And more important, she really likes it!
