Formula change?

Have there been any recent changes in the Pro Plan Adult Small Breed Chicken & Rice Formula? Our adopted frenchie has been eating the same food for years. However, this past year, she shows little interest in her food, sometimes going a day or two without eating, and her stomach is most definitely upset. She's had a lot of gas, which is new, stomach rumblings, and occasional vomiting. We are very concerned as this is all new behavior for her with no other changes.

Lola loves it

Little Lola is a 13 year old Maltese shitzu. With her older teeth she struggled eating larger kibbles that her brothers eat. She is also a VERY picky eater and often insists on sprinkles (canned meat) on top of her food. Not with this food! She gobbles it up and doesn’t share with her brothers anymore. We had to decrease her feedings because she was even gaining weight and getting a little pudgy, which is something old little dogs don’t handle well.

My dog has gone between this and the beef flavor for 2 years with no issues. We got a new bag last week- anytime I try to feed it to her she is throwing up shortly after. I came to see if anyone else was having issues and sure enough there are similar reviews recently. So now not only is my poor girl been sick - I’ve incurred vet bills because she was projectile vomiting, ran umpteen loads of laundry, been feeding her boiled chicken, and have to get another bag of food (not this one).

My guy loves it

No complaints here. Our French bulldog has no problem with the kibble size. He loves the chicken chunks and if we don’t add a slow feeder to his bowl, he’ll gobble it up in a minute. Definitely recommend.

Did something change?

My dogs have been on this food for at least a year. A few months ago I noticed they would dig through the automatic feeder and the food would be all over the floor. After a closer, look I realized all 3 pugs were picking out the freeze dried chicken pieces and leaving the kibble. It makes me wonder what changed? I see others on here have the same question.

Purchased wrong product - Dog doesn't like

I accidentally purchased this because it has the same dog picture and says small breed. I did not notice that it is "shredded blend." My dog does not like it and I had to reorder the correct one. Would be better if they didn't have the same picture on the bag if the food is different.

It's OK, not consistent

I've given 3 stars because pooch likes the food, and he especially enjoys the chicken pieces, which, depending on what bag you get, are far and few in-between. The last two bags we have gotten have been night and day differences on the amount of chicken pieces. It's definitely a Purina issue that I hope is resolved soon.

My dog has been on this for 6 years and the last few times I’ve ordered I’ve noticed the food is NEVER the same. Sometimes there’s hardly any chicken. Others the kibble is differently shaped and sized. I just ordered another and the kibble is TINY. Looks like kitten food. This is not at all what the food has looked like the last 6 years I’ve bought it. Neither dog will touch it right now. Hoping they will get hungry and eat, but half afraid to even give it to them because I never know what it is!? No consistency. What is up with that?

new formula?

Our dogs have been on this formula for years now. All of a sudden my 6 year old dog got teo bouts of gastroenteritis or pancreatitis (throwing up, bloody diarrhea). My puppy was fine but he also has a stomach of steel and quite literally eats rocks. Switched food brands and problem resolved. Based on other reviews this seems to be a common problem.

Great value being able to find the 34 lb,bag when I haven't found it anywhere! My dogs love it and I am grateful I don't have to find it and then lug it home. Thank you Chewy!
