I have two coon hound border collie mixes (1.5 years old) and a full border collie (1 year old). Our vet advised we could move off of puppy food, and we had good experience with Purina ProPlan in the past with our previous senior dog. Since all 3 dogs are very active daily and beginning dog sports, we decided to use this formula. They have all maintained a good weight, nice coats, good muscle tone, no digestive issues. Our border collie eats more than the recommended daily amount for her weight because she is VERY active and would be underweight (and grouchy) if she did not eat enough. I'm very satisfied with this food, and our dogs like it so much we use it as training rewards sometimes as well.
I needed to switch to a higher protein/fat diet for my dog to prepare for pregnancy. She is a picky eater and it’s hard to find something that doesn’t cause loose stools. She loves this product. Thank you!
I am 2 1/2 years old and weigh 65#...I've been eating ProPlan but they discontinued my previous good food so Mom bought this one. All I can say is WOW...I never leave a single morsel in my bowl ... no more playing picky with this one! She might take it away!
One of my dogs is very allergic to chicken. She breaks out in hive with all food. PPP Quail duck and Turkey works well for her. She loves her food so much she actually gets excited for her kibble. She loves anything duck or Turkey. Tho the only thing I worry about is the poultry meal. Not sure if they have anything like chicken in it. She hasn’t broke out into hives yet we just bought our second 6lb bag to see if this will be her forever dog food. My second dog is very picky and won’t eat it. So I will have to find another dog food for her.
We used Chewy for the first time after getting a coupon and needing specialty food for our dog's allergy. The order was easy to place and quick to arrive and our dogs LOVE the food....even our picky eater is more than happy for meal times and is back to reminding us it's time to serve up!
I have been feeding our dogs this for over a year with no issues until last bag both dogs were sick and one ended up at the emergency vet and food has awful smell will be changing brands .
My Brittany is a very picky eater, but he likes this. He also likes one other one, so I'm ordering that too and will mix the two together. I know ProPlan foods are all good quality.
Wrigley normally loves when we switch up the flavor choice, but this one she seems to really like! Will definitely get again.
My two performance dogs were eating the Performance Salmon and Rice, but for some reason, one of my dogs had a hard time keeping weight on that food. Tried other brands of food, but his stomach didn't take too well to it, so I took some time to look into the other Purina performance options. The Turkey, Duck, and Quail was another food that I saw that contained over 500 k/cals. So far my hard-keeper has been doing good on this food. I still am feeding him quite a few more cups than my other dog, but not as much as I was on the Salmon & Rice formula. No idea why he couldn't hold weight on it, but I'm glad we found another option. Hopefully, one day Purina will come out with a food that is similar to Eukanuba's 30/28 or Inukshuk's 30/25 dog food (both previously attempted to feed to the hard-keeper).
Had to make a food change, grain free is NOT good! My dog was previously on blue buffalo wilderness duck food. This food has helped my dog digestive wise as well as no more random vomiting. The vet did tests and decided food had to change. I think he had some digestive issues and small blockage or build up. What a difference in just a week and he adjusted well to it with a slow transition to it! Highly recommend! Very happy!! Chewy was also a wonderful experience as always!!!
