Convincing your dog to eat when he’s experiencing gastrointestinal upset is far from easy; but when the prescribed food tastes great and is easily digestible, there’s a good chance he’ll bark for more. GI upset is one of the most common reasons dogs are brought to a veterinarian, and can result from many factors including restricted eating, parasites, and infectious agents. Common symptoms are loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea, impairing a dog’s ability to digest and absorb nutrients. Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Naturals Dry Dog Food contains high quality ingredients, is low in fiber, and has added vitamins and minerals to nutritionally manage GI upset in dogs.
Key Benefits- Great-tasting dry dog food for digestive health.

How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Changing foods
By Snitz on Oct 24, 2020
My 11 year old Toy rat terrier was having stomach issues and his vet put him on purina pro plan EN. I had just ordered 2 cases of a high end wet food two weeks before. Chewy asked me to donate it and credited my account. What a wonderful company!!!

Ordered this because out Vet recommended it, do to our dog having high Liver Emzine’s. Did not realize it had the same crap as other much cheaper dog foods. First ingredients, rice, chicken meal. I am switching to fresh people grade dog food. Tired of skin issues, and tumors.

This food for my senior guy is one of two that were recommended to me by our vets, and I have learned from more than 10 years with them as our veterinary provider to trust their diagnoses and recommendations. SJ has had a sensitive digestive system for several years, and I had had some success in keeping his digestive system healthy, but then the decision was made to get him on a good prescription food after a second flareup of pancreatitis and this one was the winner for us. SJ can be a picky eater, so I was concerned that he wouldn't eat this food, but he has taken to it like a duck to water. As I always do, I examined the claims and reviews for this food and have been very pleased. He will even eat this food dry (though I usually add a little white-meat boiled chicken or x-lean steamed ground beef to his dinner portion). There is a regular EN version, as well as the Naturals, which I chose because SJ has never done well with corn. … more

Amazing stuff!
By KendallsHuman on Mar 6, 2020
Our 1 year old goldendoodle has had digestive issues since we got her. She's had to do multiple rounds of antibiotics and most recently was at the vets overnight for monitoring due to excessive vomiting and diarrhea. The vet suggested trying this food (previously we had been using a raw, frozen variety) and this has been amazing so far (three weeks in). Our dog has noticeable more energy and this is way more convenient to give her than frozen food.

Have a cavapoo with a sensitive stomach. Have had bouts with not eating, etc. Ever since we started using this food, mixed with the canned version, she is a more regular eater.
