Description

Convincing your dog to eat when he’s experiencing gastrointestinal upset is far from easy; but when the prescribed food has a savory smoky taste and is easily digestible, there’s a good chance he’ll bark for more. GI upset is one of the most common reasons dogs are brought to a veterinarian, and can result from many factors including restricted eating, parasites, and infectious agents. Common symptoms are loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea, impairing a dog’s ability to digest and absorb nutrients. Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Naturals Canned Dog Food contains high quality ingredients, is low in fiber, and has added vitamins and minerals to nutritionally manage GI upset in dogs.

FAQ

Why should I buy Vet Diet food online?

Shopping for Vet Diet food is easy! Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer your questions and guide you through the process. We offer competitive prices, free shipping on orders over $49, and more savings if you sign up for an Autoship subscription.

How do I order Vet Diet food?

  1. Search our website for the diet your vet recommends, then add it to your cart. You can purchase your Vet Diet food with any other goodies you need!
  2. At checkout, you’ll be asked for required information. Enter your pet’s name and type your vet’s name and telephone number.
  3. Place your order, and we’ll take care of the rest!

How will you contact my vet?

Our Vet Diet team will personally contact your vet for approval. If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we’ll let you know immediately.

Does it help if I send you my prescription?

Yes! If you have a paper copy of your prescription, email a picture to vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat, or fax your prescription to 1-800-619-7973.

Can I use a prescription written by a veterinarian out of state?

Of course! We can accept valid prescriptions from anywhere in the United States and Canada—that includes US territories, like Puerto Rico.

Why do I need a prescription?

Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. If you don’t have a paper prescription, no sweat—once you provide your vet’s information, our team will take over.

Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?

Yes, but we’ll need them to provide us with your full name or the pet’s owner’s name via phone, email or chat after the order is placed, so the clinic can locate your pet’s records when we contact them.

How can I help expedite my order?

Just follow these simple steps: 1. Create your pet ’s profile on Chewy.com. 2. If you have an Autoship scheduled, but you’re running low on refills, contact us ahead of time to let us know if you have a new clinic or if any prescription information has changed. 3. If you have a prescription handy, send it to us before you order—by sending an email to vetdiet@chewy.com, starting a chat with one of our experts, or faxing us at 1-800-619-7973.

Do I need to set up a pet profile?

We recommend it, but it’s not required. You can create your pet’s profile by logging in at Chewy.com, hovering over your account, and choosing “pet profile.”

Do prescriptions expire?

Yes. Your vet will tell us when your prescription will expire and how many refills we can send before they’d like you to check back in with them.

Can I set up auto refills?

Yep! Sign up for Autoship and we’ll automatically ship your food for as long as your prescription allows. If you run out of refills, or your prescription expires, we’ll automatically contact your vet for a new approval. If we hit any bumps in the road, we’ll let you know right away.

What if I have more questions? How can I reach the Vet Diet team at Chewy?

Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We’re here for you 24/7.

    Gizmo ToePoe GeeJoe

Our chihuahua developed pancreatitis. Hospitalized, tubed, and fed by syringe for a couple of months. The longest case of pancreatitis known to our vet and our local pet gastrointologist specialist. Our veterinarian recommended Purina EN Natural. I googled etc., to see what other natural alternatives there were but really didn’t have a choice. He needed to eat. Our vet had it over-nighted. And in the blender it went with meds and supplements. Finally a solution!

Our 15 mo. old Whoodle (Soft-coated Wheaton Terrier/Miniature Poodle mix) has had digestive issues off and on his entire short life. Some days all he will do is cry to go outside and eat grass all day. He will refuse food and water until his tummy feels better. We had to find a solution! (We give him barley grass in water with a syringe, CBD oil and probiotics in some plain, organic yogurt to relieve his pain.) Rusty is eager to eat every meal now, and he was a picky pup! I do crumble a half of a small Stella and Chewy’s chicken meal patty over the top. His digestion has greatly improved on this food. I tried, as directed by a holistic vet, to start transitioning him to Honest Kitchen food, but, once I got to adding just 3 tbls. of that, he vomited and had diarrhea, again! Back to EN Naturals, Stella and Chewy’s on top, Perfect Form powder digestive supplement by Honest Kitchen, Healthy Gut prebiotic/probiotic/digestive enzymes and CBD oil and now his stool is perfect and he’s a happy, healthy boy! … more

    Great food, very expensive

    By on

This Purina prescription product has real food in it rather than the by products in their cheaper version of the same food. Read the ingredients on both before you decide to buy. My sensitive stomach GSD loves it, but it is too rich for his digestion, so I mix it with other, less expensive sensitive stomach brands of food.
