Senior cat recently diagnosed with kidney disease. We got lucky and she's happily eating this brand. Not usually picky, but she refused Royal Canin. Only issue is the size of the bags. I'd rather not risk spending minimum $30 on food my cat won't eat that I can't do anything with.
Our super picky cat really loves this dry food. He has kidney problems so has to be on a prescription diet for life. We were so worried he wouldn't eat it but he likes it better than the treats he can no longer have!
The vet warned me that a lot of the time cats don’t like their kidney food. My cat loved it and in fact prefers it over her previous dry food. Her barfing has greatly improved.
My baby has kidney disease and kept vomiting up her Rx diet. My vet told me to try this one and she loves it!! So far she is tolerating it well and can’t wait to wake me up in the morning so I can refill her bowl!
My 17-year old cat has been put on a kidney diet by my vet. I ordered this NF formula food based on reviews that mainly said "even my fussy cat will eat it". My cat is also fussy and won't even go near this food - so I guess I just wasted $30+ and will throw it out since the bag is opened and I cannot donate it. Really wish my cat would eat this dry food but she will not.
This Purina Kidney Function Early Care dry cat food was recommended by our veterinarian for our 12 year old male cat whose annual check-up indicated elevated protein levels in his urine. It's been an adjustment in his eating pattern but he seems to be doing well.
Currently the only renal dry food my cat will accept. Scared to jinx it by writing a review. The kibble is smaller/thinner than some of the other renal dry foods, which is good for my guy with poor dentition. Also appreciate that the bags come in slightly smaller amount (3 lbs vs. 4 lbs or more with other brands). Still would be nice if companies offered 1lb bags. Small gripe because this bag doesn't have a zip top, but it fits in a gallon freezer ziploc bag, so not a big deal.
My two cats are both 16 years old and slowing down and their bloodwork shows the have elevated kidney function results. Doc put them on the Pro Plan NF food. We really were not expecting them to eat this food because they went hungry when we tried to introduce other RX food in the past. We are only up to a 25/75 ratio of Wellness Core (25) and the Pro Plan, but they are eating the RX food (wet and dry) and have been enjoying it.
My vet suggested switching my elderly cat to Purina N/F So far, she seems to like it.
