ProPlan Kidney Diet Canned Food
My dog does not like the taste of this food. Have to spoon feed him to get him to eat it. No noticible difference in his kidney function yet. The cans were dented when I received them. Not worth the price I paid. Will continue feeding it until I get new bloodwork done. Then we'll see whether it has really made a difference.
Back to His Old Self!!
Our dog will eat anything!! No problem with appetite at all even with his kidney disease. And yet, getting him to eat KD kibble, no way would he do it without a struggle. KD turned him into an old dog. Granted he is old, but we had to wet it and mix it with regular dog food and turkey and once the consistency was right, had to hand feed him morning and night as he laid on my lap, even resorted to putting ranch dressing on it just to entice him. When the Purina showed up i mixed half his moistened KD kibble with half purina and he stood there and ate the entire bowl on his own like a young pup! Thank you!!!
Vet recommended, pup approved
My girl is 18 going on 19, and her kidney function is starting to decline. The vet recommended this diet to help keep things relatively in check. I’ve been mixing the NF with my dog’s regular diet and, so far, I continue to get a clean bowl, and my dog is an extremely picky eater. Despite other reviews, I think the food smells okay. It’s keeping her weight up and hopefully helping with her kidney health. Other than her kidneys, my little schnoxie is still playful and active, so if a change in diet can help keep her comfortable, I’m willing to give it a shot.
Smells good but my dog says no
My senior rescue with kidney issues was eating a different RX kidney diet for awhile but recently just stopped eating it. I don't love the ingredients in this Purina formula, but it smells good (sweet), and I am willing to try anything to get my girl enjoying her meals again. She ate it enthusiastically the first night, but her interest is already waning at 3 days in and she now refuses to touch it.
My dog likes this brand better
Tried another brand and my dog stopped eating it. He does eat this one so far. He's only 6 lbs and I wish I didn't have to buy an entire case of it because more than likely he will at some point get tired of this one and will stop eating it. Hopefully not.
My dog loves it.
My dog recently was put on a prescription diet for kidney function. The vet originally prescribed Hills/Science diet food. He is a picky eater and did not eat the Hills food. When we switched to the ProPlan food he was very happy!! He is excited to eat again !!
Shihtzu hates it
I tried to feed him the food for the first couple of weeks I could probably heat it up and trick him into eating bits and pieces but.. overall he hates it . Won't touch it.
Smells horrible/ dog won't eat
Received my cases of food, opened one, dog would not even touch the food. Now I'm stuck with an entire case of food that not one of my dogs will touch. It smelled horrible as well. Not edible per my dog unfortunately.
Dog loves it!
Fast and easy ordering - even with prescription food. Great selection in stock and amazing prices! Dog loves it mixed with the dry food.
Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets NF Kidney Function Wet Dog Food
My little lady has kidney problems, and this is the food my veterinarian prescribed. She's getting used to it in little over a week, which is better than I thought it would go. She likes it !!
