How can I attach a pic of the Vet clinic prescription
Answer by cken • Apr 18, 2022
You have to order the item (such as special diet food) and once you put in the cart AND add your credit card information, then it will prompt you to take a picture of the written prescription and upload.

My dog is not liking the hill’s K/D canned. Do dogs seem to like this any better?
Answer by Chewy • Jan 23, 2019
The prescription foods are formulated to meet specific diet restrictions from known health issues. Due to this restriction of specific nutrients in the prescription formulas, we encourage pet parents to consult their veterinarian before transitioning foods.

Just how much do I feed my 18 lb. small dog? I looked on the can and there were no feeding instructions. I do not want to over feed my dog. I have been giving him a 1/2 cup twice a day.
Answer by Chewy • Jun 19, 2019
It's recommended for dogs weighing 5-pounds be fed 1/2 can per day, dogs weighing 10-pounds get 3/4 can per day, dogs weighing 20-pounds get 1 1/4 cans per day, dogs weighing 30-pounds get 1 5/8 cans per day, dogs weighing 40-pounds get 2 cans per day, dogs weighing 50-pounds get 2 3/8 cans per day, dogs weighing 60-pounds get 2 3/4 cans per day, dogs weighing 80-pounds get 3 1/4 cans per day and dogs weighing 100-pounds and over get 3 3/4 cans per day.

Smells Like Bacon

Once it's heat it up it smells like bacon and my dog loves that smell! My dog is a very picky eater and he never sticks with one of these prescription foods for long! So I'm not sure how long he will stick with this one! I just got it in the mail today. When I first opened the can it looked really ugly like a big roll of hard gel substance. Very hard to take out of the can unlike the hills beef and vegetable stews that he was used to eating yet grew tired of. So at first I put some on a plate and try to give it to him. He took a couple bites of it but did not want it. So instead I gave him the hills chicken renal kibbles and he ate it up quickly. He loved it. And when evening came I tried again with the Purina NF can food. I put some in a bowl , added a little water to it ,heated it up in the microwave and chopped it up. He loved it so much! After licking clean the first bowl He came back for more and I certainly gave it to him! So far he loves this food. It's very hard with renal failure dogs to keep them happy when it comes to feeding. So far so good!

No Palatable

This food is dry, with no smell and unpalatable. And this is for a dog that will eat literally anything! Even green beans. He's overweight because he's a voracious eater but wouldn't touch this unless it was mixed with normal food and beef stock.

New dig food.

My dog doesn't like new food even after we weaned her off Lil Caesers. So we trudge on & hopefully she'll get hungry enough to get back on schedule.

Carrageenan

I wish I had seen this had carrageenan as an ingredient. Since it can cause a variety of G. I. issues, I do not think it is a good idea to give to a dog who is already in ill health. My dog would not eat it anyway. He must not like the taste. He is happier with homemade, plain chicken, white rice and vegetables.

Would buy again

I tried giving my dog Hills and Royal Canin, and she refused to eat both brands. She actually enjoys eating this canned food. It's worth the try.

This is not a good product!

My neighbor tried to feed this to her dog and he refused to eat it. My dog ate it but under protest. When the neighbor dog died she gave another case. Bottom line, I continued to feed it to my dog and he became really sick. I then read the label and was embarrasssed that I had been feeding my dog such horrible food. Science Diet KD is a better and healthier produce.

Dog isn't a Fan

My dog normally will eat anything so it never occurred to me that she wouldn't eat this. She wants nothing to do with it. I had been hoping if she got hungry enough she would eat it because I have two cases. She went a week of only eating a bite now and then but searching for food everywhere. I finally went to my vet an bought a different brand and she eats it right up. She just doesn't like this brand.

Tater Picks ProPlan

Since my 15 year old dog Tater was diagnosed with Kidney Disease in February of 2022 we have been feeding her 2 different brands of dog food. We wanted her to have a variety but she seems to favor ProPlan. After her latest vet appointment in November the Vet said she was doing fantastic and out doing expectations when first diagnosed.
