Our dog wouldnt even try it

Our dog has kidney disease and we often times have to rotate through foods as she gets sick of eating the same thing. We ordered a case of the wet food and she would sniff the food but wouldnt even try it. We tried to introduce it to her, mix it with her previous wet food, we tried to give it to her just by itself and she wont even come near it.

Ok but possibly making my dog sick

I have a 16 year old rat terrier (5.5 lbs) who recently had to be prescribed this dog food because she’s showing beginning signs of kidney disease. I integrated it with her old food over the course of about a week and the transition went ok, but the consistency of this dog food is so pasty and thick. Since she’s been on it she burps or vurps, I think it gets stuck in her throat and causes her to cough and hack, she’s thrown up a couple times from hacking so hard after eating. Some days she’s not even interested in eating it. It just sucks having to buy it in bulk because it’s expensive to just switch to another brand for Kidney care when I have like 10 cans of this one left.

vet prescribed

I have used this prescription food in the past but the dog I need it for now won't eat it. She will eat other food that is not prescription so I offer it to her to see if she will eat it. I don't think it is the food, she has always been a fussy dog around food.

Very pleasantly surprised

Our little guy was eating the Little Caesars loaf style and loved it. We have been transitioning him over to the pro plan nf with ease. We were concerned if it were chunky at all, he wouldn’t eat it. He likes the smooth texture and obviously the taste as well. What a relief!

Would not eat

Expensive. Should be available in smaller quantity to try on your pet. My dog would not eat it. Waste of money. If your vet prescribes it, ask if the can provide a sample before you invest your money.

Kidney Function Dog Food

I have a little 6 year old, 8 lb Imperial Shiz Tzu who was diagnosed with the beginning of Kidney problems. Initially I thought that she wouldn't like the food because she can be a very picky eater. The first day, was just as I thought. She sniffed it, then immediately walked away. The second day, I put a little in her mouth. She spit it out, but realized after she spit it out that she liked it, and she began eating it. I serve her a little bowl full twice a day and she loves it.

Great Product

I have two dogs that require kidney food for a couple years now. I started with another brand and struggled to get them to eat it. I tried the ground and stew. Mixed with rice and topped with regular food to get them started eating. Nothing worked. I switched to ProPlan Kidney and they love it. They clean their plates which they never do. I recommend this highly to anyone needing Kidney food for their pups.

SO FAR GOOD

My 10 yrs old golden was just diagnosed with kidney issues which has caused me to change her diet completely. She’s extremely picky about her food so I’ve introduced this food into her diet with the accompanying Purina dry food over the past week and she is doing great with it.

Dog turned up his nose

My dog is in kidney failure so his diet is limited. I wanted to try this food, looking for something he would like. He smelled it and walked away. He wouldn't even try it when I offered it again. I had to purchase a case because it isnt sold in single cans. Huge waste of money.

Good price

Despite the affordable price for this prescription diet, my dog won’t eat it. I don’t know why but even if I mix it with something else he likes he still refuses to eat. I have a case of it. I would recommend it to others it is just my dog that refuses to eat it and is extremely picky
