I had tried to move an order up by about five days. Instead, I have two 100 pound bags of dog food delivered within one week. I have so much trouble with your scheduling software. It usually takes calling and speaking to a human to get it corrected. This time I thought I had it right. I’m ready to cancel automated delivery. The pittance that I save is not worth having to stow 100 pounds of dog food. this is so incredibly annoying.
My dog has been on this food for 2 years now. His kidneys have gone from barely working to low normal function range. We’ll keep him on this as long as it keeps working for him. He still likes to eat it, and our elderly dog much prefers it to her own food now too. It’s not the best smelling, but it does its job well.
Our dog is 11 years old and has been on this food for a month now. We get her blood tested every year now that she's a senior, and this year the vet noticed that her kidney levels aren't what they used to be. We also noticed that Peggy Sue was unable to hold her bladder as well as she used to. I am happy to report that Pegs loves the new food. It does take her a bit longer to eat it than her old food. The pieces are slightly larger, and may not be as soft as her old food (she doesn't have all her teeth). We have also noticed that she appears to have even more energy since switching to her new food. We haven't gotten her levels retested just yet, but we are very happy with her response to the food.
So glad that our dog likes the food, she had been pretty particular in what she eats, however she ate this food RA when had switched over to it. In fact she took those new pieces before her old dog food as we did the switch over.
My dog is a bit of a picky eater and will get sick of foods which makes us have to try new brands/options. Options are extremely limited when your dog has kidney disease. She liked the food okay. We mixed it with her old food to slowly introduce but she ended up vomiting all night with an upset stomach. We also gave her the wet food as well so that we could mix in her meds. Unfortunately she wouldnt even try it. She would just sniff and walk away. Thankfully I just bought a 6lb bag to try, but unfortunately, I will have to see if I can return the product. Or just be out the money
Our dog was diagnosed with Kidney failure. She had lost over 20% in weight in a year (49 lbs. to under 41 lbs.). We ordered this product and a 2 weeks later ran another analysis with our vet. She is up 2 lbs. and showing signs of relief after just 2 weeks. Going back again for more blood work in another 4 weeks, so fingers crossed, but a noticeable difference in her appearance and weight.
My 12.5 yo dog just got diagnosed with Stage 1 CKD. I tried it as a treat for him and the other dogs - then I slowly made the transition (and still am) from his regular diet to this. I believe this is the most successful way to do it. I also give a Just Food for Dogs Renal as a topper/mix. He loves it and he can be an extremely picky eater.
My Bella Girl loves this food. I'm so grateful that she does. She is in possible early stage kidney disease and this is what her vet recommended. She loves it!! Definitely recommend!!
Since Clay has been on this diet his kidney function has improved! We are so happy about that. He eats this food with no problem --- of course he has never been a finicky eater!
Convenient to get the Rx diet for our dog via Chewy. It arrived on our doorstep on time and was exactly what we ordered. Thank you Chewy!
