    My picky dog dx'd with early kidney disease has decided this is acceptable. I do have to break it up into teaspoon sized bites b/c it comes out as one large chunk. But it's a relief she eats it, given that I'd been cooking for her this past year with her oftentimes rejecting it. I recommend microwaving it for about 20 seconds prior to serving if your dog is picky. It enhanced the smell. … more

    Only food she ever refused to eat

    After my dog was diagnosed with KD, I tried Hills Prescription and this one, since it is a few dollars cheaper. She loves the Hills, won't touch Purina Pro. When I mix them together she literally pulls the Purina chunks out of the bowl and eats around it to get to the HIlls. When I mix them together she literally pulls the Purina chunks out of the bowl and eats around it to get to the HIlls. She has never been picky on food prior, though fair that she also didn't have KD prior.. Also, Hills Prescription looks more or less like stew, it's watery, which is good for KD treatment and looks like actual food. Purina food has the consistency of Spam and smells like fake BBQ (?). It does not have many qualities of actual food. I'm trying to get through this case, but won't be returning to buy more. When hydration is the key to prolonging life for KD dogs, I'd rather spend the extra few dollars and get her food that she will eat. … more
