Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

---|---|---|
Days 1-2 | 75% | 25% |
Days 3-4 | 50% | 50% |
Days 5-6 | 25% | 75% |

My cat Desmond is allergic to chicken and is dire need of diet cat food. I tried all the limited ingredient foods sans chicken. Turns out they are mostly seafood pates with some turkey. The cats do not like seafood that much and they are not fans of pate. So I went back to the Purina OM wet cat food they ate before Desmond got diagnosed. The turkey flavor has no chicken so they are happy now that they have a good they like with loads of gravy.
I have a husky Manx cat who needed to slim down. This food helped with this. I saw improvement within a couple of weeks. He Loves the taste and seems to “stay full”. No more begging between meals.
I recently adopted a 14 year old cat and they asked me to feed her only this food. Miss Chunkalunk weighed about 15 pounds when she was brought in but is about 11 now, ten months later. She gets one can a day plus 1/4 cup of the dry of the same kind. I understand it is prescribed by doctors but am not sure why it is so expensive. Then again, what isn't? Guess she is worth it.
My diabetic cat was constantly hungry when eating his food. His veterinarian recommended Purina Pro Plan OM for him. He eats it right up and seems less hungry (still a little hungry) than he was--I am thinking it may be the higher fiber content than his last food. As always, I am very pleased with Chewy.
My cat seems to loosing a little weight. Little expensive though. I will continue to buy as long as I can afford it.I do enjoy buying products from Chewy. And the order comes quickly.
My usual supplier has been unable to get this prescription diet and I was very happy that Chewy could send some ASAP. They did a great job but unfortunately this batch of Purina ProPlan Veterinary Diet OM Savory Selects was very low on the gravy my cat wants and needs. This has happened before and it is Purina's problem, a quality control issue. I've askedChewy to provide a refund or better, another batch of 24 cans and they were very responsive.
Our diabetic cat is so excited to have variety in flavors, this is a great favorite now in rotation. Licks the plate clean.
Of the case of OM I received 10 cans were dented. Thank you
I can't review this as a weight management food because that's not what I'm using it for. Our cats have a medical condition that requires a low-fat diet and this was one of the lowest ones I could find. The cats like it, which is great as they really need it right now. Due to the medical issue they may end up on a different food but at least for now I'm grateful to have something that has a lower fat content than what they had been eating.
After reading numerous unfavorable reviews for the various prescription cat food, I took a chance on this one and was so happy it turned out to be a hit! My vet had originally prescribed Hill Physicians MD, but Chewy was out of stock so I had to find an alternative. Besides the fact that the vet's price was higher for the Hill's food, it's full of crappy ingredients that I would never give to my cat. The OM Pro Plan Savory Select wet food contains generous amounts of turkey chunks, mixed in a a thick stew. It smells good and my cat had no problem adapting to the new food. At first she sniffed at it and wasn't sure about the new smell, so I added a little bit of her current kibble to it and she ate it all. Now she scarfs it down without hesitation. I have yet to see if it will help her lose weight and improve her hypercalcemia, but at least there is a good quality diet prescription food out there that she'll eat.
