My cat had been suffering from bouts of licking her fur off specific spots until it was raw and bloody. Vet said it can either be allergies or she is just very anxious, so she recommended we try this product to see if it is anxiety. It takes about 6 weeks to go into effect. I've had her on it for months now, it's a powder that you sprinkle over their food and she loves the taste. If I'm not feeding her wet food, then I put it on her dry kibble and pour some water onto the bowl so it's not super dry for her. It has helped her a lot! She is still a bit jumpy but her compulsive licking is completely gone so I am very happy!! Especially because its probiotics so its helping her gut as well. We unfortunately got a bad batch of food once and she didn't have any diarrhea because she was taking this product (unfortunately the other cat did get diarrhea and so I started him on another version of this brand's probiotics and now he's doing great as well). This has helped our cats in more ways than one, so although it can be pricey to get every month it is so worth it.
Some time back, I experienced a very sudden, traumatic change in my living situation, which meant that my two lovingly spoiled cats, Winston and Salem, did, too. I sent the boys to with a relative for 5 months. The stress caused by the sudden change location, not living with me, and the shift in their everyday routines just wasn’t good for them. They came back anxious, overweight, and in a constant state of stress. Salem’s stress response was particularly bad, so bad in fact that he’d developed crystals over the time he was away, which led to a urinary blockage for which he had to have surgery. He also began over-grooming, and had bald patches on his front legs. Feliway didn’t work. Nothing worked, really. So, out of sheer desperation, I ordered the Calming Care. I kid you, not, after just a week of putting this into his food each day, Salem has become a different cat. The hair on his legs is even growing back! Every cat is different, of course, but this has done wonders for mine. I more than highly recommend this.
Moving was difficult and hard for my cats to adjust (6y/o, male and female tabbys). Before this, I had pheromone diffusers and collars and at night I would give them hemp oil, but it still seemed like they were both still skittish around the house. A vet recommended this to me and gosh it has worked wonders. The first few days using the supplement they were REALLLLLY mellowed out, but after a week of adding it to their dry food they actually enjoy and look forward to it. In fact, they go just as crazy for it even if I have the powder in my palm
My fixed male cat had a habit of spraying several times a day. So I started him on this product. It has now been about 2 weeks and the difference is dramatic. He is much friendlier and will use the litter box most of the time. I am hoping that in the next few weeks I will see continued improvement! He still has his moments but he sprays now maybe every other day. The product says at least 30 days but I have already seen a major change in his behavior. An added bonus is that my 1.5 year old cat has also calmed down (although he still likes to climb the Christmas tree). But he is much happier staying inside most of the time! So I am thrilled with the improvement in their behavior! I will check back in in a couple of weeks. But so far, there has been a dramatic improvement!
New kitten introduction to a four yr old cat. My older cat is stressed out about it so I ordered and kept my fingers crossed she would eat it. I only sprinkled about 1/4 of the pouch on her wet food but she rejected it. I repeated with four different flavors of food on four separate days - no go. :( I'm happy that it's worked so well for others. I'm not going to leave a poor rating just because my cat is picky. The rest of the packets are going to a local rescue group.
This product works pretty well for my 5 year old cat Willow, who can be a playful sweetheart but can also be aggressive as well as destructive - she’s got a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on and this helps to calm her. I’m glad for it because I’m not keen on putting her on medication. It took a while for this to kick in (several days) but it does work and I use it in combination with the Feliway plug-in. But in order to get the benefits, I have to use this daily, and it is rather expensive. I may try and cut the dosage in half and see where we stand. However, I think without this product I’d be struggling with her behavior so I’m glad for it. But minus one star for cost.
My vet suggested this for my 2 year old cat exhibiting psychogenic alopecia last year. I was skeptical because my cat is very confident, playful, friendly etc. also, the only details of its efficacy I could find were from Purina. After a few months I gave up because it didn’t seem to make a difference. Aurora continued biting her fur. I tried the suitical and others. A couple of months ago I decided to try the calming care again. It now seems to be working! Her fur is growing back. She also loves the taste.
It took a while before I noticed a difference, but right around the 6-week mark, I noticed a change in both my cats. I have one shy, stressed kitty, and her sister is more high strung and demanding. They've only tolerated each other for the almost-year that they've been together. My high energy girl would sometimes bully my shy girl, and my shy girl spent a lot of time lying on the luggage I store under my bed. The changes I noticed were subtle at first. My shy girl asking for more pets. My high energy girl bullying her sister less frequently. But I swear the longer they've been on it the better it seems to be going! My shy girl spends her time relaxing on her cat beds now instead of being constantly under the bed. My high energy girl seems more calm. I've seen them both playing together voluntarily! My shy girl cuddles with me about 3-4 times a week now, where before it was like twice a month! Everything isn't perfect. They still aren't the best of friends, and I'd still love for my shy girl to be more confident, but like I said, it seemed to get better and better the more they've been on it, so maybe that trend will continue! My girls also seem to like the flavor when I mix it with their wet food. I'd say, definitely give it a try, but give it time and watch for subtle signs that it may be working.
Honestly I don't think it's doing anything. I've given it to my cats who can be bullies and I don't notice any change in their behavior, they haven't even calmed down to like nap or just look out the window after I've given this.
we've been using this product for about 6 weeks in addition to her Rx urinary food to help with our cat's stress induced cystitis. While I haven't noticed a change in her behavior per se, she hasn't had a recurrence of her cystitis symptoms so far! it's a little expensive, but if you can swing it, I'd say it's worth trying out
