Battling Diarrhea and Constipation
I've been struggling to find a food that works for all my cats. We either have a cat with diarrhea, constipation, cat acne, excess vomiting, etc. Still in the process of finding the right food that works for them, but the probiotic supplement has been incredibly helpful in alleviating / stabilizing things as we figure things out. It is expensive, and I actually end up giving them less than the recommended portion per cat, but I am still seeing the benefits and results.
No longer fans after formula change
Our 5 cats used to love this so much we called it “magic dust”. It got us through some rough days for various bouts of illness/surgery recovery. However they are no longer interested since the formula changed (animal digest no longer first ingredient). Looking for a replacement option if anyone has a recommendation or a source to buy animal digest in bulk!
My little girl was having a lot of intermittent cases of " muddy- butt ". Her vet suggested we try Purina Forti-Flora, and it WORKS LIKE A CHAMP. You may have to tweak the amount you mix into their food , (sometimes a whole packet is too much and can give them gas). Cats can clear a room, just like a dog does, so maybe start slowly and see how it goes for a couple of days. I use one packet for about two days- 1/4 packet per meal @ two meals per day. No more muddy butt!!!!
Our 14-year-old cat has a less aggressive chronic kidney disease—going on 3 years now. Her appetite comes and goes. I lightly sprinkle Forti Flora on her food & it has worked very well. I have to feed her small amounts of canned food throughout the day, I use a sprinkle each time. One packet lasts me several days since I am using it for flavor enhancement and not as a supplement. Of course, first check with your vet if your cat has CKD to ensure it would be ok for your kitty.
I love FortiFlora
I'm writing this for my Mom who does everything possible to keep me healthy. I recently had to go on some medication and needed to ingest pills. My Vet prescribed the pills and with added advice of using pill pockets rolled into a ball and then dipped into FortiFlora. I can hardly wait to get my daily pill and then lap up the powdery Fortiflora left on the plate. It's a great product to sprinkle on my food that I am a bit hesitant about eating. It's all good with FortiFlora.
Tigger the Kid
I have to get Fortiflora for my dog since he has such a delicate digestive system. Every time I opened a packet, the cat would go nuts and try to get the Fortiflora before the dog which usually doesn't work in favor of the cat. After the dog finished his food and walked away from his bowl, the cat would move in to lick any last bits of the powder. So I got some just for the cat. He loves it.
Amazing product for cats
My girl is almost a year old and gets horrible diarrhea from stress and because she gets into everything- to the point it became bloody. The vet recommended this and it’s changed our lives even after just one week of use! She has good solid poops, no constipation, and she’s even pooping regularly now. In addition, she doesn’t even notice it on her food and eats just like normal (she’s very picky and won’t eat digestional chews but eats this fine)! Definitely give it a try!
I think it’s working
My cat has been having occasional diarrhea and then getting it all over herself and then causing UTIs and trips to the vet for cleaning. We’ve been using this now for a month and so far so good I haven’t seen any signs of what was happening before and she seems to love the taste as well as my other cat and eats it right up!
This really helped my 16 year old cat
Such an amazing and awesome product!!! I am not one to review cat food or cat products, but I am so impressed with this product, I had to!!! My poor cat has suffered with diarrhea for such a long time now and absolutely nothing has helped. Nothing. This product really has helped and within the first week or so. Things are not perfect yet, but I think with more time using it, she will be in the right track.
After one of my cats had dental sugery, his gut health seemed to plummet from the antibiotics. This was the probiotic that started working really soon after one packet. It has no added sugars so it is the one i used when my diabetic cat needed a microbiome boost. It was always very helpful at the vet clinic for boarded cats when the stress gave them diarrhea. It has a strong odor that most cats love but i do have a couple that won't eat it when it is in their wet food, which is how it is administered.
