  • Awesome Product

We found a starving stray kitty. You could feel every bone is her body. For 1 1/2 months we have tried multiple foods but everything was causing vomiting and diarrhea. The vet said her labs and stool look good. Tried multiple medications with no success. She was still losing weight. The vet suggested an x-ray and probably surgery to see what's going on. I didn't want to think about surgery as she is pretty weak. After reading all the reviews I decided to order this product. She absolutely loves the flavor! Her vomiting has definitely gotten better and her diarrhea is getting better as well. She is actually gaining weight! • Great For My Cat

    By on

This stuff is coated with animal digest, so it smells great to my cat. With cats, the aroma of the food means a lot. My normal finicky eater does much better at mealtime now. I just sprinkle a liberal amount on top of her canned food, and it does the trick to entice her to eat. The probiotic in this also seems to help make her stools firmer. My vet prescribed it and that was a good steer. The vet charged $40 per box, though, while Chewy charges about half that amount. So, I really like this stuff. Wish I had known about it earlier.

  • Hopeful so far. When mixed with baby food they are licking the bowl clean :)

I purchased this product from my vet (for twice the price on this site). I have 5 cats, all rescues and all at least 15 years old. Three have developed what seems to be IBS since numerous lab tests have ruled out other causes for their diarrhea and changes in litter box habits, i.e., not using the box, and some weight loss. I have tried everything for this problem including different types of food, etc. All canned foods made the problems worse or they wouldn't eat it at all (including the most expensive canned food on the market), so I wasted a lot of packets of FortiFlora. My vet just wanted to continue running more expensive tests including ultrasounds. After hours of internet research I I purchased this product from my vet (for twice the price on this site). My vet just wanted to continue running more expensive tests including ultrasounds. After hours of internet research I found one run by a licensed veterinarian. She recommended mixing it with plain turkey or chicken baby food that has no added ingredients, especially rice. It is working like a charm!! I mix 1 packet with 3 teaspoons of the slightly warmed baby food, and divide it among the 3 cats who have the problem. I began doing it like that so I wouldn't be wasting a lot of the product if they only took a bite or two. I have been doing this for about 2 weeks now, and I am seeing a big improvement in litter box habits, activity levels, etc., even with a low dose of the FortiFloria. This week I will begin giving 1 whole packet to each cat (rather than dividing it). The only issue I have is getting them to eat a large amount at once. They have always been free fed, so I have to catch them when they are hungry. I am seeing my new vet tomorrow to discuss this, and to make sure I am doing everything correctly. However, I have always used baby food for sick or very elderly pets, and have never had a problem. … more

  • Great Stuff!

My 18-yr-old Siamese had chronic diarrhea following dental surgery and a round of antibiotics. Nothing seemed to help until I started using FortiFlora. Cleared him up in a matter of a couple of days. It also increased the appetite of my finicky Persian mix, also 18 years old. She has gained weight back, her coat looks much better, and she is livelier. Reccomend it!

I have giving my senior cat this supplement for about 7 months and it has made a big difference in his litter box habits. I give him 1/2 packet per night in a tablespoon of can food. He looks forward to it and thinks its a treat so at 8:20 pm he starts reminding me its time for his special treat. love himmmmm! Also your price is less than the veterinarian (don't change it please).

  • For fussy eaters

Animal digest works for cats as MSG for human, but it is not a very good ingredient, because you don't know its source - which animal, and which part does the animal digest come from? I bought it not for health benefits, but to let my "dry food addict" cat start eating canned food. Mix a little of it with canned food, and it works. A small packet can last several days.

  • Very Helpful

My 17-year-old cat had been vomiting his food and having diarrhea recently. The vet could find no reason for this, so I have been giving him food in very small meals. I added this probiotic to his food starting a week ago, and there has been no more vomiting or diarrhea. My only problem with it is that is quite pricey, so I am looking for a less expensive alternative.

  • He loves it!

Recommended by our vet to help soothe an IBS flare up. Goes right on top of the wet cat food and mixes in easily. My little guy loves the stuff so much that he'll pull the empty pouch out of the trash to try and lick out the rest! Symptoms of the IBS have been improving and my buddy seems to be doing better.

  • disappointing ingredients

After my vet recommended we keep our kitties on a pro-biotic, I began looking into my options. First, I'd like to say, I already had some from previous fosters last summer. It was from PetAg and is called BeneBac. The vet personally suggested this Purina FortiFlora, I was already hesitant just because it is made by Purina. If you look at the ingredients, the very first one is "animal digest". Some folks may not be too concerned with that ingredient, but I am. These four kitties all came from rough beginnings and are now all healthy, happy, and doing great. So I cannot in good conscience use this product as a topper when their food doesn't have any grains/byproduct/animal digest. • FortiFlora Probiotic for cats

This stuff is great. My older cat has chronic low-level diarrhea. The vet gave her this and she feels much better. A good supplement for keeping the guts going. NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR VET CARE. SEE YOUR VET IF YOUR CAT HAS DIARRHEA OR CONSTIPATION.
