Is it as effective, or near as effective, to break the packet in half and sprinkle it on food twice daily? My cat likes it so much, he would eat more if I spread it over two rather than one meal.
Answer by ChewyMay 10, 2018
One sachet contains 500 million live microorganisms, and it's important to give them the entire packet at once so that the highest possible number of good bacteria reach your pet's lower intestine intact. A higher population will provide more beneficial effects to their digestion and health.

How long does it take to work?My cat just started eating it today. Thanks!
Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2018
Just like any probiotic, FortiFlora for cats can take some time to start working. While minor improvements might be observed during the first few days, you’ll really start to see the full effects of FortiFlora after your cat has been on it for a week or two.

Weill this product do anything to help with a furball issue?
Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2018
Probiotics and enzymes help maintain a healthy digestive system and helps to prevent any potential diseases of the digestive track. They will also help your cat pass any undigested food that tends to attach to hair sitting in the digestive track, thus helping him pass hair before it becomes a hairball.

Can this be used as a bribe to get cats to eat raw food?
Answer by ChewyApr 23, 2018
This supplement is not meant to entice your cat to eat a certain food. It is intended to be a digestive aid, supplying the healthy microorganisms needed for good digestion.

Cats eat it right up!

This was recommended by my vet when one cat had excretory problems. I was hesitant because this particular cat rejects anything that he thinks is medicine! This product mixes easily with his wet food and he never balked at eating his whole dishful! I now give it to both cats and neither cat appears to notice. I take a daily probiotic, so I feel this is good for both cats, especially since they have both had antibiotic treatments in the past which may have altered their good internal bacteria!

Great Stuff

My 8 month old sphynx had soft stool until adding FortiFlora to her diet. It really helped her get past her digestive issues and now she is feeling much better. She has more energy and is no longer visiting the litter box to deposit runny stool 3 times per day. A must try if you have a cat with soft and smelly stool.

Cats love this- and their bodies do too!

Our vet gave us this when one of our cats had a diarrhea issue, which of course means BOTH had some. They went crazy for it, quite honestly. Kitty crack. They love it and will attack the box if I leave it in their reach. The intestinal issue, which may have been more behavioral, eased up, but the more miraculous thing was the effect on the other cat. She has been a chronic cougher for years, especially after a dental 3 years ago. Nothing we've tried has been helpful for her and our vet was stumped. After about 2 weeks on this, I realized I hadn't heard her cough. At. ALL. It's been almost 2 months now and still cough free. Amazing!

Great probiotic for my kitty!

I have used this probiotic for my kitty that has kidney stones and early kidney disease to help her digest her food more efficiently. She likes the FortiFlora taste on both her wet and dry food. I sprinkle a package over her food throughout the day, so she doesn't get a full package at once. Great product that is keeping my kitty healthy!

Amazing Stuff

I take care of a 14 cat colony and recently they all developed signs of a cat flue. I was told that these Probiotics work good for it so I gave it a shot. Not only do the cats noticeably improve but also they like the powder so much that some of them eat food they would usually not touch just because the powder is on it. This is incredible.

Game Changer

Initially started using this a few years ago because I have an orange tabby who was allergic to her teeth (I said what I said! Honestly, I forget the medical term) she also has chronic cacne (cat acne). I sprinkle in on the dry food and they eat like it’s their last meal. Wet food, not so much but everyone eats the dry food so it works. Recently my geriatric buddy has been dealing with renal failure. I’m pretty sure the probiotics have helped him maintain his weight as best as possible. I also have a feral rescue. She was hit by a car and fractured her pelvis and dislocated both her back legs. Because she was feral we didn’t find her for over a month; by then surgery was not an option. Because of the way her pelvis healed, it pinched on her intestine, making it hard for her to go to the bathroom. She has been on everything from laxatone to lactulose. The probiotics have made her life much easier. I was a little leary at first, bc it’s not cheap and it’s packets of (almost) dust. But this has been a GAME CHANGER in my house!! If you’re even thinking about it, it’s worth a try, honestly. It takes a couple of days to notice anything but now we don’t live with out it. My cousin cat sat for me recently, he started using it with his fur babies. He told me he didn’t know how much his fur babies needed it until he started using the probiotics. I will never, not recommend these probiotics to anyone.

Using for Ferrets

I was told by a vet to use this for my 10 ferrets as they are prone to digestive and stool issues. I also know that other ferret owners are using this. I use 1 packet in a large blender of 30mL soup that I give them all in the AM. Definitely a noticed improvement for my ferrets. Stools are more consistent and formed. Less green or watery stools.

Really helps their digestion!

I have 2 kitties with tummy problems, and this stuff really helps a great deal! I thought that my kitties would turn up their noses at any powder I add to the food, but it seems they like the food even better with this probiotic. The upside for me is that I have less vomit to clean up. Win-Win!

Pricey. Made cat sick.

I think they're entirely way too expensive for such a small box. Smells meaty, easy to get the cat to eat it. Unfortunately, it seemed to make my cat very sick after roughly a week or so of taking it. She is a 9 year old domestic shorthair. No other changes in her diet except for the probiotics. First few days were okay. Then came stomach and bathroom issues and increased vomiting. Vomitting was a daily occurrence, if not multiple times a day. Cat generally just not feeling too well. Vet suggested we take her off them and see how she feels, after a checkup and tests. After stopping the probiotics for a few days, she immediately perked back up.

All 5 cats love this. unheard of.

I have 2 cats with skin issues. Maintaining gut health is essentials for cats(and dogs) who have skin issues. Every cat devoured their food with this sprinkled on top which is a neat miracle. Both cats with skin issues had a reduction/noticeable difference in them licking/scratching. This is a no brainer to incorporate forever.
