Had to discontinue
I got this supplement because my golden retriever was having some problems with eating breakfast. I suspected it was stomach upset. I spoke with the Chewy vet via chat and after asking me many questions about Torrey she suggested this supplement. I gave it to both of my dogs, the second being a Brittany. They both stopped incessant licking fairly soon after I gave it, but the golden became lethargic and uninterested in his usual activities, so after a week I discontinued it for both boys. He is back to normal now, although his reluctance to eat breakfast continues. I think he's just not an early morning eater, because he will eat it vigorously after about 8:30 am.
First, Chewy is my saving grace. Not only do they make it easy to order and receive my items.so quickly but the customer service is beyond amazing. You guys are the best. Also about the Fortiflora, we were told.from the Vet that Presley had dietary allergies, not environmental so I read that a probiotic will help. After month of using this I noticed a huge difference. She does not lick and bite her paws as much. Every day gets better. I highly recommend this product
Tiny item sent within HUGE box!
Product is fine. The low rating is due to the packaging. This item probably measures 2" x 3" x 4". The box that Chewy packed it in was big enough to put probably 50 of these little boxes. It was stuffed with tons of wadded paper (this wasn't a fragile item). When I unpacked this box it filled my recycling bin! If they did this for me, they're doing this for every item they ship! This is unacceptable to me!
Give it a try
My Cavalier is on an extremely expensive prescription diet for her kidneys, and eats nothing else. She continually had diarrhea. Another medicine was prescribed, but the diarrhea would come back in a day or two. The vet suggested a probiotic, so I purchased FortiFlora. Amazingly, her stools became solid again. I would recommend trying this if your fur baby keeps having digestive issues. The good thing is that you do not need a prescription from your vet. Good Luck.
Finally some Relief
This product has provided relief for my dog and for me. My dog would go through episodes of slowed eating then stop altogether for a day. He was having intestinal issues, stretching, hunching, etc. and in obvious discomfort. After bringing him to several vets with no clear diagnosis, I found some positive information from dog owners who have used these probiotics with positive results. I can attest that the regular intestinal issues for my dog has resolved itself. I am thankful to finally see my dog have a healthy intestinal tract and no longer has to suffer with these flare ups. Hopefully, if your dog is going through the same issues, this will help as it did mine.
Packaging is awful
I ordered 2 boxes of the FortiFlora for my Bentley and Lilly's tummy issues and 24 cans of canned dog food. All shipped in 1 box from Pennsylvania to Florida. The boxes of FortiFlora we all opened and crushed by the 24 cans of wet dog food. If packaged maybe together.... but in a box to protect the FortiFlora from being crushed may been a little better getting to me.
Great fix for sensitive stomachs
My pup's vet recommended this once when she had an upset stomach. We gave it to her once per day with her meals for 3 days and her diarrea cleared up! If my pup starts showing upset stomach symptoms or she's eaten something she shouldn't have, I give her FortiFlora and it does the trick in about 2 or 3 days. She also seems to like it. It is pricey but worth it when you have a sensitive-stomached pup who gets sick often.
I had heard dogs with stomach issues and some aggressive issues can really benefit from probiotics. So my vet gave me 5 days of this to see if it helped one of my dogs. He would not play and was being more aggressive. He had an inflamed stomach on 2 separate ultra sounds. This product really helped him. He started playing with me after the 5 days. So I ordered this from chewys and will continue with this product.
Tried and true
Our Frenchie expierienced loose stools and lots of flatulence after being switched from puppy food to an adult version of the brand he was already eating. We switched to a sensitive version of same brand, and our Vet told us to try Fortiflora to help with digestion. It works. Stools became firmer and the gas issues were less severe. Apparently the powder tastes good as well because our dog dove right in and ate everything. Would reccomend.
Good for stress colitis
I have a doggie daycare/boarding facility. I keep this on hand for those dogs experiencing stress-induced colitis. Works like a charm. Dogs like the taste, it's easy to administer and overall, very handy to have on hand.
