Our queen bee is 12 and her poops are not as solid. We were recommended FortiFlora by our vet years ago for a bout of diarrhea. Now that our girl is older we noticed her poops are not solid and frankly messy to pick up! I read that digestion could be an issue and this kind of supplement could help. So, we had her on Fortiflora for awhile and things got better. We stopped, and things went back to being messy. Started up again and after a few days her poops are more solid again. So, can say from experience that this really helps our girl feel like the queen she is. We use the powder and sprinkle one pack a day on her breakfast and she eats it all up.
I have been using this product on my picky eater Sheltie dog and can't say enough about it. This powder will get her eating and it is so good for her tummy. Great way to keep your dog's gut health pawfect! All dogs love this stuff because it taste like liver to them and as I sprinkle it on top of her food she wants the packet. I sprinkle half in the morning and the other half in the evening. Then I open it completely up and she licks it clean and gets every bit of the powder each night off the packet. She poops nicely because of this stuff.
My 14yo pup has always had weird, short-lived bouts of diarrhea or vomiting since I adopted him when he was 5. Happens MAYBE once a year, or every other year. The DVM has never found anything wrong with him, and always sends us home w/ a few packets of FortiFlora which always seems to help. Recently I decided to make it a regular part of his supplement regimen since he's been having soft stools for a few months, per my DVM's instructions. He absolutely loves this stuff and would take it as almost a "broth" (aka dissolved in some warm water), no food necessary, although I do sprinkle it on his food. That's how much he loves the flavor. It only took about 48hrs and he's having normal stools! I'm very relieved and happy and will make this a permanent part of his routine.
As always Chewy has great products, quick shipping and excellent customer service. My 9 year old Lab has suffered with Pancreatitis, frequent vomiting and diarrhea. She was seen recently at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital who recommended daily probiotics. We tried others but they didn't work to well. We decided to try FortiFlora from Purina and have been very satisfied with the results. She feels so much better and has been able to put on some weight. No vomiting or diarrhea. Life changing for her and us. I definitely recommend FortiFlora and Chewy always gets top marks. Thank you, David and Havana
I bought this for my dog who is about eight months old he had runny stools and thought this might help my vet recommended. However, that had the opposite effect. It made him have to go to the bathroom so bad that he could not hold it, while we were gone for 2 hours after he just went before we left. Then at night it was the same thing up and down outside all night and throwing up. As soon as we stopped, giving this to him at stopped. I would not recommend this to anyone.
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but recently I have visibly noticed that the amount of powder in each packet has decreased, but the price has remained the same. It’s printed on the box net wt/cont.net: 1.06 oz (30oz). Upon further investigation I did find a product listing elsewhere that showed in the description 2.0 oz, so I believe Purina cut the amount in half but kept the price the same. I’ve only bought this product on Chewy and I have it on auto ship, so the product selection hasn’t changed in years; only the product itself. It’s up to us as consumers to be observant to know what we’re getting and what we’re paying for. So, knowing this information I will not buy this product and will be looking out for another source of probiotics for my dog.
My dog has tummy issues often and my vet recommended this probiotic. It works very good at helping my dog. When her tummy starts gurgling loudly I can give her one of these sachets mixed in a can of wet dog food and she gobbles it up. Our dog actually realizes that these help her and she will go straight to the cabinet where we keep them when her tummy is gurgling. They work fast at soothing her tummy. These are also good for when your dog has diarrhea.
I checked with my vet and they stated using it daily is perfectly fine! I give me 8lbs Chihuahua one a day mixed in his food and he loves it. It helps give him regular bowel movements, with normal stool. He no longer has little ball or liquid stool. He is also a picky eater and this enhances his appetite so he always finishes his food, also helping with bowel movements. 100% recommend this product.
