My dog has a food allergy. What is the protein source used in Quellin?
The Quellin soft chew is a proprietary formulation that contains no animal protein. Note that the formula does contain soy and should not be given to dogs known or suspected to have an allergy to soy or soy protein.
How quickly should I see results with my dog?
In most dogs, improvement can be seen in a matter of days.
Is the dosing the same as with other carprofen products?
Yes, Quellin (Carprofen) soft chews and Rimadyl both contain the same active ingredient in the same amounts for a given strength. In other words, a 75mg quellin chew may be substituted for any FDA-approved, 75 mg carprofen tablet.
Can I use Quellin with other medications?
Quellin should not be used with certain other medications. Talk to your veterinarian about all the medicines that you are giving or plan to give to your dog, including non-prescription drugs.
Can I split the Quellin chews?
The drug is evenly distributed in the soft chew matrix and they are scored, which facilitates splitting whole chews to give the dose prescribed by your veterinarian.
I am switching from a medication. Do I need to wait to start Quellin?
Quellin soft chews are bioequivalent to Rimadyl tablets of the same milligram strength. As such, they can be used immediately as directed by your veterinarian. However, carprofen (the drug in quellin) and other NSAIDS are entirely different medicines, are not interchangeable. Changes in drugs, dose, and dosing intervals should only be made under the direction of your dog’s veterinarian.

Great for splitting but not sure about taste
By Matilda on Mar 17, 2021
I was so excited about this easy to split carprofen. The other tabs I've used were difficult to divide into 4. You can even crumble it on your dogs food. Unfortunately, my dog does not like the flavor. Granted, she's a picky 14 year old Schnauzer but she will lick around her food to avoid these tablets.

Must taste horrible
By SAth on Dec 1, 2020
I've had my dog on Rimadyl before by our vet and to reduce cost, we went with this brand and I wish I'd paid double what I paid for it since my dog will NOT eat it. Rimadyl, he ate like it was a treat.

Website Stock Levels Are Wrong
By SoreOldDog on Sep 26, 2020
Website says Quellin 100mg is "In Stock" and will allow an order to be placed. When the order didn't ship, I found out that they are in fact Out of Stock. The CSR's don't seem to think this is an issue. Terrible first experience with Chewy. They seem too big to be having these basic web issues. Going to lose to the other e-commerce giant if they are not careful.

Doesn’t crumble like some brands
By EquestrianDebra on Jul 24, 2020
One of my dogs takes Carprofen but he’s under 8 lbs, so I have to cut pills into quarters to ensure the correct dose. This usually results in traditional tablets crumbling and therefore, a lot of waste. Quellin is a softer, chew-style pill, so I’m able to divide it without it falling apart. My tiny tyrant (Mickey the Chihuahua) eats it willingly. Win-win!

Quick service great product
By Ruth123 on May 12, 2020
Even in the midst of slow-downs by lots of online companies, Chewy got this prescription product to us in record time -- a good thing, too, because I hadn't counted on any delivery delays when I requested a refill, and I was almost out of the old quantity. Quellin (carprofen) chewables allow us to put the entire 2X-daily dose into our elderly dog's food for easy medication delivery. He love it and never leaves it in the bowl. Also, getting the large bottle saves having to put more plastic and cardboard into our recycling bin.

Great taste, the softness dries out quick
By juliav on Jun 12, 2020
My dog loves these and thinks they are a treat, however they came super soft and smelling like pork for her. After about a week in the same chewy bottle they came in they were hard as a rock. I love the idea of a quick chew medication just was disappointed how fast they hardened.

Another mail order source
By McJJ on Jul 4, 2020
My senior dog has been on this prescription for over a year now. With the vet open with limited hours/access these days it's great to have another avenue to order the medicine and have it delivered.
