About This Item

Details

  • Fiber-rich hay supports digestive health and encourages rabbits to chew in a side-to-side motion, which helps evenly wear down molars and prevent molar spurs.
  • Contains little protein, which helps prevent health issues like weight gain and GI stasis.
  • Hand-packed to promote fur-esh, green hay instead of dusty, dried hay.
  • Suitable to give at all times to small pets and rabbits who are 7 months old or older.
  • Coarse strands encourage your pet to act on his chewing instincts.

Questions & Answers

9 Customer Questions

I grew up on a farm, making tons of hay. The most important was for it not to get rained on. Does this company guarantee that, or just go buy the cuttings.
Answer by ChewyFeb 02, 2018
The hay is grown in a field, but once harvested this hay is guaranteed to not have any additional water added to it.

Is this first cut hay good for my one year old Guinea pig?
Answer by ChewyDec 09, 2020
Young adults from age 7 months to 1 year should be introduced to timothy and grass hays, and it should be available all-day long.

What is FIBER ADF & NDF
Answer by ChewyJan 31, 2018
Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF): The fibrous component represents the least digestible fiber portion of forage or other roughage. Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) is the most common measure of fiber used for animal feed analysis, but it does not represent a unique class of chemical compounds. NDF measures most of the structural components in plant cells (i.e. lignin, hemicellulose and cellulose), but not pectin.

How long are the hay pieces? Short hay 3-4 inches falls through my rabbits hay feeder and gets wasted. I'm looking for hay that is 6" or so long.
Answer by ChewyMay 09, 2019
The bulk of this hay is approximately six inches or longer.

My rabbits love it

Since I introduced this hay to my rabbits it's the only brand of hay they want.
