I showed this to my trusted vet this morning and he thought this would not be as effective for my dog as the finger brushes Chewy also sells. I would go with that if you have a small dog.
I have used many different toothbrushes for my dogs and cats over time. Used to buy the "natural" kind with the natural bristles as opposed to the synthetic ones and found that often these brushes do not hold up as well and have the annoying habit of dislodging bristles, which invariably would wind up loose in my dog's mouth and my trying desperately to successfully fish them out. Not so with this brush, which proved to be surprisingly handy and agile, due also to the wonderful handle which is actually short but has this extra grip reinforcement, which enables me to maneuver around in my little dog's mouth very well, getting into all the difficult-to-reach places like his back teeth, upper and bottom. The brush's head is round, rather than elongated and perhaps that is also different from most pet brushes and while relatively small, easy to maneuver, especially in the mouth of a smaller dog like mine. I believe no dog likes his teeth brushed (one of my Golden Retrievers did) and some will chomp down on the brush, trying to break it but the Radius Pet Brush has held up very well so far and outlasted every other brush that is out there. Also their Pet Toothpaste I highly recommend! It's different and at first I was very skeptical, thinking my dog would hate the taste, but he loves it! more than any other toothpaste and the smell is nice and his breath stays fresh a long time after brushing. I first ordered the trial set, which contains the Radius Pet Toothbrush and a trial size of the Radius Toothpaste. I highly recommend this combo!
This is a great toothbrush. I highly recommend it as there aren't very many quality toothbrushes out there for dogs. The bristles on this toothbrush are firm to medium and are still safe for the dogs tooth enamel for brushing. There are alot of garbage toothbrushes for dogs out there, almost all of them have really flimsy brush bristles that are inferior at brush the surface of the teeth. You are almost better off using a human toothbrush at that point. This radius toothbrush is MADE IN THE USA, and NOT overseas with INFERIORITY quality control. When it comes to you dogs Oral hygiene do not cheap out! You wouldn't cheap out on your kids oral hygiene would you? So dont do it to your dog either they deserve the best. What 99.7% of dog owners do not realize (this is pretty commonsense here), dogs are SUSCEPTIBLE to all of the SAME ORAL HYGIENE PROBLEMS and DISEASES as us HUMANS: tooth decay, periodontal disease, tooth extraction, fillings, crowns, tartar and plaque buildup, heart and cardiovascular disease, etc etc. Dogs due require professional teeth cleaning and debridement by Veterinary Hygienists. Take care of your dogs oral hygiene and you will notice a happy, healthy more energetic lifestyle from your dog. I'm serious about all of this. Oral hygiene problems lead to bigger problems, don't fool around with it.
These flat toothbrushes are for people not pets. I bought this because the Triple Pet EZ Dog 3 sided toothbrush that I normally use was not in stock. I should've just found it elsewhere. Inevitably your pet is going to move their head around because they either want to lick the toothpaste or they hate having their teeth brushed. The 3-sided brushes help keep the brush on the teeth while your pet is ducking and weaving. Flat brushes you might as well just wave it in their mouths and hope you find a tooth once in a while.
Nice small toothbrush for my Boston and Frenchie. Handle is easy to grip and the perfect length. I am a female with some age on me.
easy to put in big dog's mouth and reach back teeth, easy to manipulate. bristles not hard and dog likes to lick toothpaste off brush
I think this toothbrush could be good for larger dogs but I have a Yorkie and its too big for him
excellent item. I use it on my babies. highly recommend it.
Love the brush head for my dogs. I can tell I'm getting an effective, yet gentle clean. I like it better than the previous brush I was using. The only downside is that I wish the handle was longer because I have 3 large dogs with long chompers. It would be the perfect size for small/medium dogs. As for cats I would think the brush head would be too big, but I haven't tried it on my cats.
Was looking for a toothbrush with softer bristles and this fit the bill. Handle is comfortable, fits dog’s mouth well and dog likes it too so we can brush better!
