This cat tree is certainly costly but it feels like it will last many, many years. In the end, I think it will pay for itself if you keep it long enough to outlast the cheaper ones you would have bought along the way. All of the perishable carpet and cushion bits are replaceable. The wood feels strong (not cheap or flimsy feeling). The instructions were printed on large sheets of paper in a very easy to read, large font. No broken English. Good pictures. Easy to assemble to be honest! I do recommend a rubber mallet and/or some wood glue to keep the screw hole covers in though!
First of all, I received this item very late. Problem was that I used my husband's credit card to place this order and since my account's name didn't match the credit card name, therefore, the item wasn't sent to me until I called Chewy. If I didn't call them I wouldn't know what was wrong. They didn't send me an email to notify me of the issue. I received the item today. I wish I could say I love it but for the money I paid this is not that functional. I am very disappointed because I wish I could return it but I already assembled it which took me hours. I don't want to go through the trouble of disassembling it and packing it for return. On this tree, there is nothing for my Persian cat to grab onto besides the carpeted perches. And the shape of the upper perch is not a secure resting place for him. For this reason, my Persian cat doesn't even attempt to climb on it. My Persian cat is too heavy to jump to the top and there is nothing for him to grab onto. I wish my cat liked it because this is a very expensive item to just sit in my living room! I just feel I threw away my money.
The primary audience for this cat tree is humans, not cats. I didn't realize how big of an issue that was until I bought it, built it, and had my cats test it out. While sturdy, the appealing wood design makes it too slippery and difficult for my cats to really use. There is a lack of any cat friendly climbing or scratching material except the carpeted platforms. I have a carpeted cat tower right next to this one, and the only times my cats use this tower is to get to the other one. From a utility aspect, this thing is incredibly heavy and unwieldy. I do think it's good quality, it just missed the mark for my cats. For the price point it sells at, I'll be sticking to carpeted cat condos.
I had a handyman put this together for me because the pre drilled holes were off. It is heavy and sturdy. My four cats love this tower! I placed it next to a large window where they like to sunbathe. They also play on it.
I bought this for my cat 10 years ago when she was a kitten, and she has used it every day since. This thing is very solid and it has moved with me 6 times. It still looks great and is very easy to clean.
Two of my three kittens do not want anything to do with this and the third finally tried it and nearly fell off the top perch. There is nothing for them to grab onto besides the carpeted perches and the shape of the upper perch is not a secure resting place. This tower is insanely expensive and not worth it.
Very happy with the quality of this. Got the grey. More like a modern piece of furniture. My cat loves how tall it is, and how high up she gets to climb. Perfect for the indoor only cat that needs extra TLC to make their environment really cool. My kitty loves it! BTW, I did have my friend put it together for me.
I bought an espresso Lotus cat tree several years ago. Cats don’t use it every day, but when they do, they love it. I just built a sun room, and what could be more fun than a Lotus tree in a room full of windows. However, none are available, anywhere. I’ve looked at many websites, no luck. I want a white or smoke. I am not settling for anything else but this piece. It is beautiful.
Both of our cats love this. And they both want the top of course. I was worried about if they would fit and if they would be comfortable because of how it is shaped... Turns out the cats LOVE that shape and lay all kinds of ways with plenty of space. Look forward to watching them enjoy this for years to come.
I had a bit of a hassle putting it together using the provided instructions only, watch the assembly video mentioned in the instructions to make it easier. My cats are usually scared of anything new brought into the house (a shopping bag can make them hide for hours). My 2 boys were climbing on this thing while I was putting it together and I had to isolate myself because I didn't need their "help". Now it's together my biggest cat is sleeping on it and it's very sturdy after adjusting the feet on the base. I highly recommend the Lotus but you are giving up some functionality of a typical cat tower to have a free standing piece of art in your living room.
