Good! expensive for quality
Definitely exactly what I was looking for but for the price, I expected a little higher quality. The doors are misaligned despite my best efforts (I am a former frame maker so I feel pretty confident in my abilities) the screws for the drawer are way too short luckily I had some on hand. having a drill made assembly 10x faster. Overall great for a small apartment and a tall cat. My biggest concern was it would be too short for my cat (13lbs but very long legs) might even get a bigger litter pan (it doesnt come with one)
So this box comes with everything you need, they even include the screwdriver. It is wood, even the back is Luan, not cardboard. The wood is soft, which makes it light, but also makes it scratch easily. Each board is wrapped in foam upon arrival. I did have a small damaged spot upon arrival, but I didn't contact the company bc it's not a big deal. The assembly hardware contains cam locks which aren't my favorite but it's sturdy for now and if it loosens up I'll get brackets for it. All in all, I love this box and I feel like it's the best you can buy aside from building it yourself, which would last longer but be heavy and way more expensive.
Beautiful and functional
Really nice-looking, sturdy furniture. Classy neutral grey color. The tall-sided liner is a really convenient extra to help keep the wooden box clean. There’s an interior drawer to keep scoop, freshener and whatever else close for convenient cleaning. It’s not a tall drawer but sufficient for storing smaller (or shorter) things. The entry door is a little high if your cat has mobility issues, otherwise it’s fine. The furniture went together fairly easily. Just takes maybe an hour or so for one person. I really love this litter box enclosure and highly recommend it!
Looks better in picture, very functional
The waterproof lining inside is a good feature, as it will prevent any spills from soaking into the wood. However, the finish is not as luxe as pictured, and one of the front doors had a small crack in the surface. There are good details. I like there’s one way in and vents in the back, and a drawer for holding litter accessories. Wheels would be a nice option to have, because you will still have some stray litter to sweep up if your cats are big or just big diggers! Would I buy it again? Not sure, I might just get a cabinet and hack it to meet my needs.
Love the look and the quality for the price. It was very easy to put together. But be aware of the fact that there is a difference from the front and back of the top and bottom. The Back of the unit goes on "grooved" side of the unit Not the overhanging side. I saw that some reviews were complaining about the back not fitting. It fits if its attached on the correct side of the cabinet. My kitty litter box is rather big and just fits in the cabinet, without the liner that comes with the cabinet. I will likely use the liner when its time for a new litter box. My kitty had no problem using the litter box once it was inside the cabinet.
I now have two!
This is such a great solution to litter boxes. Not only does it keep it out of obvious sight it’s a good way to keep the litter contained in the “house” with the exception of the exit, to which I also recommend the catch that matches, but this item is STURDY! I had a different brand previously and within months the door was was hanging off and the house was leaning to the side. I was scared my 10 pound cat would jump on it and the thing would just collapse with her on it. Not a good feeling. So, yea, this is a little on the expensive side but it is absolutely worth the investment. There is plenty of space inside to store extra litter and scoop and liners and even extra cat toys and grooming supplies in the drawer. When I got a second cat the third thing I ordered was a second refined feline litter box house. And they are pretty easy to assemble; I do it myself with supervision from the cats, of course.
Ok for young, nibble felines
This cabinet has a nice appearance and is easy for myself to get in and out of to do the necessary scooping, etc. I agree with other reviewers that the hardware is iffy. The top is held on with round furniture connector nuts that pop out whenever the top is lifted to move the unit. It wasn't super easy to put it together and was time consuming. My biggest gripe is the height of the cat access door. It's fine for animals that are young and nibble. Not so for my 15 year old senior cat or my younger, fat cat. Both struggle with how high the door is. Cutting out a lower, larger opening seems to be the only solution (short of putting steps up and steps down on the inside and outside). But I suspect that it will ruin the aesthetic of the cabinet.
disappointed that the back of the box doesn't fit properly!
It's a lovely piece, however it was difficult to put together and at this point after hours of trying, I realize the back piece simply is an incorrect size to fit the back of the box. I certainly don't want to pack it back up and return it or try to justify to Refined Feline that they need to send us the proper sized back portion of the box. Chewy, can you make this right please; I'm not upset with Chewy as they couldn't have known but now that they do I'm trusting them to make it right.
The Backing is WAY too Big
I saw someone already complained about this but they send you an unrealistic back door measurement which prevents the completion of this of this project. It costs too much for the company Refined Feline to distribute pieces that don’t fit. This is stupid.
Very attractive and well made.
We replaced a DIY toy chest converted to a litter cabinet with this litter box. The liner in this box is a definite plus to protect the inside from uncontrolled urine. Assembly was easy with 2 of us, but one person could handle it with some maneuvering. Extra hardware was packaged including a screwdriver.
