We recently adopted 2 cats who were not a bonded pair. We kept them separated with this gate so they could start to get to know each other without physical interaction. It was perfect, and the door to the room still closed with the gate in place. When they seemed comfortable enough we fed them in the same room, then put them back on opposite sides of the gate. After about a week, presto! They now both have the run of the house and they get along great.
Not good the time you run out the all thread rod out to fit the door way, you can push the gate over with 1 finger. It will not fit a 36" door way BE AWARE. I think they should be up front with the consume. If it needs a different extension THEY should say so..
I got this to keep my gsd mix out of the trash in the kitche. He easily scaled this and he’s only 5 months old so I’m sure it’ll be a piece of cake in a couple months. I will be raising it a few inches off the floor to see if that helps, but it wasn’t even 2 hours after I’d put this up that he figure it out
I love these gates. I bought one for a bedroom door where I was keeping a feral cat who I had finally convinced to come live inside. After acclimating him to being indoors, I wanted her to meet the other kitties through a barrier as we’d never introduced other cats before. The gate is perfect. It worked so well, we bought another to put at another door. Opens easily, and very easy to put together and install. Just high enough that none of the cats have been tempted to go over it yet.
Got this for an apartment to keep my cats out of one half and learned this gate isn't much of a deterant for them. I have seen them jump it and even the fat one slowly shimmy through the bars haha. But it's a really good design, just don't lose the parts. Finally found them after two years and will be taking it to the shelter for donations. A dog owner will definitely like this tall gate!
I already had one of these gates so it was a proven good product, unfortunately, they downsized the height and the frame is now right at the doorknob, a small inconvenience, but noticeable when the door gets shut. Luckily the cat still can't clear the gate.
We have 4 of these gates for our dogs and doggies friends that come to stay. They are sturdy enough for 100lbs of Akitas! Not crazy about this gates lock handle to go in and out but getting use to it. Very easy to install.
This gate is perfect! It was easy to install & so easy to use. Plus it looks nice, too! My maltipoo baby is already jumping about 28" so hopefully this 36" gate will curtail her jumping as she matures. I absolutely recommend this gate to anyone in need of a nice looking, easy to install & use gate.
The gate gives length measurements and the gate would have fit my walkway given the measurements, but it doesn't but in the slightest, waste of money
I purchased the gate to keep 2 young kittens in a bathroom (now in the bedroom with attached bathroom). They could very easily pass through the bars and openings in the gate, so I modified it by using zip ties and the cardboard from the packing material. Works great now!
