About This Item
RenaKare (Potassium Gluconate) Powder is prescribed to help correct low potassium levels in both cats and dogs. Potassium deficiencies are common in dogs, and they’re particularly common in cats. Your pet may lose too much potassium through his urine and through his gastrointestinal tract. Pets who don’t get enough potassium through their food may also need a potassium supplement to help regulate those levels. This powder is easy to administer, and your vet may have you mix it into your pet’s food to help prevent any stomach upset.
Proudly sourced directly from the manufacturer or their approved distributor. Guaranteed genuine and backed by the manufacturer.

Seems to be palatable for Bentley
Originally my vet ordered liquid K+ Gluconate for Bentley, 5 meq/day. The compounding pharmacy makes it but it soon turns to "glue" due to the dose. So we are trying RenaKare instead. While Bentley doesn't seem to notice it in his food, he doesn't always consume all the food (small amount) I put it in, so his dosing is a bit irregular. I don't use his regular food, fearful of turning him off of it, but I might try that. IF your cat will eat all the food it is put in, it is a good alternative.
Penelope doesn't know it's in her food.
My Penelope doesn't know she's eating her medicine. I had previously tried the gel and she wouldn't eat her food but this tasteless powder is great.
Potassium low
I can't give a real rating because I don't know if this works, Tigger has low potassium diagnosed back in November 2019 and has been on the supplement since then. He has a test coming up in about two weeks to see if this is working. We do like the fact that you can mix this with his food,, as opposed to trying to force a tablet or jell down his throat. It doesn't work!
Works in dry food, too
Tried to get my cat to take this in wet food, but he's in the habit of eating dry, so he wouldn't finish it reliably. Turns out, since the Hills Kidney Care dry food is a little oily, this powder will stick to it pretty well and he doesn't seem to care that he's eating it. Adding a few drops (and I mean drops) of water will get even more powder to stick. His energy is back and he's a happy cat!
RenaKare Powder
It was so easy to place an order. I couldn't fine this product anywhere. The Vet couldn't even get it in the pill form. But I found this on your site & that solved the problem. Its so much easier to use the powder for dispensing.
Easy to administer
My FIV positive cat has low Potassium so my vet suggest he start taking Potassium Gluconate, my cat is super picky with supplements in his food but this powder is very easy to give 1/4 teaspoon mixed in his food and he has no idea he is taking it.
Best stuff
My cat Solo previously was on Renal-K potassium gel purchased at his vet’s clinic. He would hide from me poor baby. I tasted the stuff and couldn’t imagine how I could force him to take it. Very difficult to administer and adding to his food was not an option. After 3 large tubes I found this product. It is tasteless and mixing in his food is a dream. Eats it like a champ. Thank you for carrying this product NO more fingers in his mouth!
Easy to use
The RenaKare powder is SO easy to give my 19-yr-old cat. I just mix it into wet food and he laps it up!
Easy to mix in with his food
My kitty needed a potassium supplement and our vet suggested we try RenaKare. This formula is easy to mix in with his wet food and he doesn't seem to mind it at all. We will see how his potassium levels are in a week or two.
Prescriptions
A potassium supplement for my cat with failing kidneys. Reasonably priced and east to mix into his food because it is a powder.
