Instructions

The first step in clipping your pet’s nails is making sure they’re calm and secure. Hold your pet, or have someone else hold them securely, but calmly. Also, make sure they can’t move their paws around too much. If your pet gets fussy, feed them a treat and continue the process.

Next, hold the paw in your hand and snip the tip of the nail off. If your pet has clear nails, you should be able to see the location of the quick inside. If the nail is black you won’t be able to see the quick. Just snip the very tip of the nail. The quick is the inner part of the nail, if clipped it will bleed. Don’t be afraid if it does, take some styptic powder and apply it to the wound. This will clot up almost immediately. Continue through every nail and don’t forget the Dewclaw (this is the nail on the side of the paw.)

    Not great product

By KymT on Sep 10, 2021

I was looking forward to clipping my cats nails with these but when I did all it did was crush his nails and did not provide a clean cut but left fragments of the nail hanging at the end. These were brand new they shouldnt need a new blade already.

    great for little dogs

By tris on Sep 14, 2021

When I clipped my small dogs nails it worked great but when I tried to clip I’m big dogs nails it didn’t work as good, ya know it wasn’t a clean cut so it bothered my big dog. So in general it is great for small dogs.

    High quality

By Adorkable on May 5, 2021

The blade is sharp and the clippers well made. I recommend guillotine style clippers for thicker nails, I tried the other style and it would twist her toe and hurt her. I also tried this style, but a different brand and the blade was cheap and dull, the handle was plastic and it felt like it would break in my hands. I'm happy to find something well constructed and built to last. I also like that I can buy replacement blades, because sharp blades are essential to clipping your dog's nails without hurting them. Great product, I love it.

Clippers no go for big guy

By Clips on Jul 29, 2021

These are good for small and medium sized dogs. I was able to use them in my rotti but it almost broke. I do not recommend for larger dogs.

    Very flimsy

By BamaJo on Apr 5, 2021

I prefer the guillotine clippers to the new variety (though I am getting used to them). Had a pair like these (not same brand, just the style) for many years. These are not well made at all. The clipper is flimsy and actually bent while I was attempting to trim my dogs nails. Threw them away.

    Good Clipper

By Sherry on May 28, 2021

I have a Lab Mastiff mix. Her nails are BIG. These are tough enough for the task. I got purple ones... pretty, too.

    Poor Construction

By Matt on Feb 21, 2021

Out of the box I could not get the handles to squeeze. I checked what instructions came with it, but still nothing. Only after dissambling it was I able to finally fix it. Disappointing to be shipped a faulty clipper, especially consider the mechanism is simple. Poor workmanship and QA.
