Revolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month. It is also indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations, prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite infestations. Revolution is also indicated for the treatment and control of roundworm and intestinal hookworm infections in cats.
The most common is hair loss at the site of application with or without inflammation (redness, flaking) in cats. Other side effects reported in cats and dogs include vomiting, diarrhea with or without blood, anorexia (decreased appetite), lethargy (sluggishness), salivation, rapid breathing, pruritus (itching), urticaria (welts, hives), erythema (skin redness), ataxia (incoordination), fever and rare instances of death. There have also been rare reports of seizures in dogs. If you have additional questions about possible side effects, talk to your veterinarian.
Talk to your veterinarian about any other drugs your cat is taking before starting this medication.
Prior to administration of Revolution, cats should be tested for existing heartworm infections. At the discretion of the veterinarian, infected cats should be treated to remove adult heartworms. Revolution is not effective against adult D. immitis and, while the number of circulating microfilariae may decrease following treatment, Revolution is not effective for microfilariae clearance. Hypersensitivity reactions have not been observed in cats with patent heartworm infections administered three times the recommended dose of Revolution. Higher doses were not tested. For use in animals only. Keep out of reach of children.

Instructions
The recommended minimum dose is 2.7 mg selamectin per pound (6 mg/kg) of body weight.

seems to work well
i was skeptical at first because there are a lot of different reviews about a lot of different flea medicines and i was at a loss. my vet recommended this and i voiced my concern for the reviews i read and she reassured me that this was one of the best. she was correct! within the first day, the only fleas i saw were dead ones falling off. instead of applying it to the middle of his shoulder blades (which he can reach), i physically checked where his skull ended and put it there. i haven’t seen any new eggs on his bedding, he isn’t scratching nearly as much and he’s able to run around the house freely again. do one/two last deep cleanings before and after you give the medicine since the fleas aren’t only on their body but wherever they roam and chill in the house. all that being said, chewy delivered this quicker than quick; they gave me 20% off my first prescription and sent my order placed after with it, so it all came at once. thanks so much!!
Farewell Fleas
I had the "pleasure" of dealing with my first (and hopefully my last) flea infestation. I had tried an over the counter flea medication that did absolutely nothing. Honestly I think it encouraged the fleas to advance their assault on my home, my cats, and my insanity. I had to wait a full month before I could use the Revolution. Took about a week and another deep clean but finally, FINALLY, I have decreased the surplus flea population. Hopefully by the next dose, this will be a distant nightmare.
So far pretty good
This is our first time using our VET recommended Revolution. Kitty has been wearing it two weeks & all seems better than the former brand; less incessant itching. HOWEVER kitty was a bit ill acting, quiet, sleepy to the point of sleeping with his tongue out. I nearly called Vet for help. Day after all went back to normal. I will try to be more skin-concentrated next time as I suspect he scratched and itched at his neck & i did not get medication close enough to skin.

I have been using this on my cat for several years and have never seen a flea. Also when he goes to the vet they find no evidence of ear mites or worms. He goes outside on a harness and lead where there are squirrels and other wild animals which probably have fleas and has never picked one up. Some of the other medicines to control fleas, etc. seem to have made him feel sick for a while.
does the job better than over-the-counter remedies
i used other brands for years that were less expensive and easy to get. one day i brought home a kitten off the street, and he was so ridden with fleas, it was absolutely disgusting. he was too young to treat, so i bathed him regularly, dusted him with diatomaceous earth, and combed him at least twice daily -- nothing worked. i've never seen such relentless fleas. finally, when he was old enough i got this product from the vet, and it's the only thing that works for him.
YIKES!
THIS PRODUCT WAS EXPENSIVE (86 and change FOR 3 doses) . I HAVE 4 CATS, SO ONE DID NOT GET TREATED. ALSO-IT TOOK ALMOST A WEEK FOR THE PRODUCT TO ARRIVE VIA YOUR PHARMACY!!
Didn’t seem to help
The person who we talked to in the chewy pharmacy was very helpful and we got the item fairly quickly, but the medication didn’t work at all. Our cat has been getting an inflamed nose and we think it’s from mosquitoes and our vet highly recommended this product.
Ineffective
I’m at my wits end, frontline ineffective, advantage worked for year until a couple months ago. So vet recommended Revolution. Applied 3 weeks ago and my cat is still suffering with fleas.
Easy Peazy
Sure beats running to the vet to get Revolution for our pets. Chewy confirms the weight and dosing with our vet for us, and poof it’s at our front door!
Revolution for fleas
Unfortunately this remedy for fleas does not work - within two weeks of applying it to each of my cats, they were all back to being infested. The problem with this treatment is that it is exceptionally expensive and I would hope it might have helped a little with the cats who are all indoor cats.
