Your furry friend must have a current heartworm test result on file with your veterinarian in order to be prescribed heartworm medication. Please visit your veterinarian to have this test performed annually to protect your four-legged friend. Revolution is a medication that is applied directly to your furry friend's skin to protect them from biting critters. When applied every 30 days, Revolution protects against heartworms and fleas. It may also be effective in preventing and treating ear mites, roundworms, and hookworms.
UsesRevolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month. It is also indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations, prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite infestations. Revolution is also indicated for the treatment and control of roundworm and intestinal hookworm infections in cats.
Possible Side EffectsSide effects include salivation and intermittent vomiting.
Drug & Food InteractionsTalk to your veterinarian about any other drugs your cat is taking before starting this medication.
Precautions
Prior to administration of Revolution, cats should be tested for existing heartworm infections. At the discretion of the veterinarian, infected cats should be treated to remove adult heartworms. Revolution is not effective against adult D. immitis and, while the number of circulating microfilariae may decrease following treatment, Revolution is not effective for microfilariae clearance. Hypersensitivity reactions have not been observed in cats with patent heartworm infections administered three times the recommended dose of Revolution. Higher doses were not tested. For use in animals only. Keep out of reach of children.

Works for my boys
By oldcatlady on Jan 22, 2021
This is all I can use on my boys. It is what the shelter used on them before I adopted them. I tried Frontline and it burned a large circle in my one boys where you put it on and had to rush him to the Vet. This might cost more but it hasn't caused any harm to them. They are indoor cat's but I still use this just incase I'm bring any fleas in my home on my feet from feeding all the wildlife in my backyard.

Save your money
By Renee on Feb 7, 2021
This product did not work. Even with continuous and appropriate use, my cat would come in almost daily with ticks and fleas. I wouldn't buy this product again. I tried Advantage as well with similar results. I can't believe how much money I've wasted on flea and tick prevention. Totally disgusted.

Great for sensitive skin
By EmilyS on Feb 15, 2021
I tried many brands of flea meds for my cat prior to Revolution. The other brands burned her and left a bald patch at the site of application. While I can’t say she enjoys the application process, she has all her hair and no fleas. Happy cat mom here!

Not Super Effective
By BatCat on Feb 25, 2021
Cat still has fleas. Fewer fleas. But still fleas. Vet recommended this product because it also does heartworm and other internal parasites. I hope it is more effective on the paarasites I can't see than it is on the ones I can.

Hoped for better results
By Meryl on Dec 14, 2020
One of my cats suffers from flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). This month I switched from Frontline Gold, which ultimately worked great on the fleas, to Revolution per my vet’s recommendation due to ear mites. At first I loved Revolution because it‘s way less greasy, dried way faster, and had fewer scary initial side effects than Frontline Gold. Would have given 5 stars if it’s efficacy were equally wonderful. We’re 2 weeks in, and although my baby hasn’t developed any new scabs or hair loss from FAD, she’s still itching her face and ears constantly as though she still has fleas. I don’t see any on her, but it only takes one of the tiny buggers to cause a reaction in sensitive kitties. I can’t decide One of my cats suffers from flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). I’d give only 3 stars, but I do think it worked on the ear mites (I’m now treating a probable secondary ear infection with yet another product). Also I have family members who swear by Revolution. So I’m giving 4 even though my own experience has been disappointing so far. Maybe my cats are the anomaly, and I do know that not every product works on every cat. … more

I like to use Revolution Plus on my cat Jack. I feel it gives him the best protection with one monthly dose. I appreciate the speed with which Chewy delivers this product.

No issues with the product, but the script process was a nightmare
By KAnderson on Oct 12, 2020
I've used Revolution (or other brands for Selamectin) for years now on my two adult cats, and I've never had issues with the product itself. I used to get this medication from a different site before Chewy started their prescription service, and the other site has always been pretty easy to order from (I did not have to do anything to get it fulfilled besides the vet's contact info for my pets). I then decided to try Chewy prescription because I get cat food auto-shipped from them and they are so quick and reliable, and their customer service was amazing. I completed all the necessary info for the scripts for my two cats to facilitate a quicker processing of the medication, but for some reason I've used Revolution (or other brands for Selamectin) for years now on my two adult cats, and I've never had issues with the product itself. I completed all the necessary info for the scripts for my two cats to facilitate a quicker processing of the medication, but for some reason they had a hard time receiving the scripts from my vet's office. After a week of no update from the order I had to make/take several calls/messages between Chewy and my vet's office just to figure out whether one or the other sent/received anything, or where in the process is the order at currently. Took almost three weeks for the item to finally be shipped out. According to their customer service it should be quicker on subsequent orders since we have this script on record (and I get +1 refill), so maybe I'll try again with Chewy if it improves, but I'll definitely build enough time beforehand juuuuust in case. … more

Hard to say if this works
By standy on Oct 4, 2020
Once you get fleas in your house, it's very difficult to say what works and what doesn't. We initially treated our cat with a drug from our vet that killed all the fleas on him within 24 hours, but of course, we still had fleas and flea eggs in the house. We tried a powder on our carpet designed to kills fleas, but after a week, we still had issues (and were later told it can take up to three months to kill all fleas). We have since switched to Vet's Best Dog Flea + Tick Home Spray that we've applied three times now. We still find fleas on him and on our clothes, so I think this is just going to take time. We're finding you really have to be patient when dealing with fleas on your pet, because they seem live forever. Best of luck treating your fleas. It's a fight lol … more
