Revolution is formulated to kill adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month. It is also indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations, prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite infestations. Revolution is also indicated for the treatment and control of sarcoptic mange and for the control of tick infestations due to Dermacentor variabilis.
In safety studies, Revolution was administered at 1, 3, 5, and 10 times the recommended dose to sixweek-old puppies, and no adverse reactions were observed. When tested for oral ingestion at the recommended topical dose in 5 to 8-month-old beagles, no adverse reactions were observed. In a topical safety study conducted with avermectinsensitive collies at 1, 3 and 5 times the recommended dose of Revolution, salivation was observed in all treatment groups. Revolution also was administered at 3 times the recommended dose to heartworm infected dogs, and no adverse effects were observed. If side effects do occur, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
The most common is hair loss at the site of application with or without inflammation (redness, flaking) in cats. Other side effects reported in cats and dogs include vomiting, diarrhea with or without blood, anorexia (decreased appetite), lethargy (sluggishness), salivation, rapid breathing, pruritus (itching), urticaria (welts, hives), erythema (skin redness), ataxia (incoordination), fever and rare instances of death. There have also been rare reports of seizures in dogs. If you have additional questions about possible side effects, talk to your veterinarian.
Prior to administration of Revolution, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infections. At the discretion of the veterinarian, infected dogs should be treated to remove adult heartworms. Revolution is not effective against adult D. immitis and, while the number of circulating microfilariae may decrease following treatment, Revolution is not effective for microfilariae clearance. Hypersensitivity reactions have not been observed in dogs with patent heartworm infections administered three times the recommended dose of Revolution. Higher doses were not tested. For use in animals only. Keep out of reach of children.

Easy to apply, quick to dry, Revolution (selamectin) protects dogs against a variety of common internal and external parasites. Revolution is the first FDA-approved, topically applied medication for dogs 6 weeks and older that:
Revolution is quick-drying, nongreasy and waterfast, with no unpleasant odor, so you can cuddle and play with your dog as soon as the product dries. Bathing your dog 2 hours after application does not reduce the effectiveness of Revolution.
Revolution is a prescription-only medication available only through a veterinarian, not a pesticide registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Just one dose a month applied at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades is all your dog needs for protection against fleas, heartworms and other parasites. No pills. No sticky sprays. No more hassling with multiple products.
After application, Revolution enters the bloodstream through the skin. Concentrations of Revolution in the blood and tissues prevent heartworm disease. Revolution selectively redistributes from the blood to the skin, where it provides protection against fleas, flea eggs, American dog ticks and mites.
Parasites are an annoying fact of life for our dogs. Parasites can cause a range of problems, from bothersome scratching to more serious medical issues, such as infections and dangerous or even deadly diseases. How dangerous these problems are depends on the type of parasite, the degree of infection or infestation, and your dog's reaction to the parasite.
Most parasites that affect dogs pose no risk for humans. However, a few parasites, like sarcoptic mange mites, are zoonotic, meaning they can be transmitted from animals to humans. Your veterinarian can recommend methods to prevent, treat or control many canine parasites to reduce the chance of human exposure and to keep your dog healthy.
Doesn’t kill ticks. I thought I had a tick treatment plan and it turns out this stuff is not great for ticks. I found 2 embedded ticks on my dog 24 hours and 4 days +after being on a trail. Togo’s treatment happens every 30 days and had just had a treatment.
The past 10+ yrs I havent boughten any toxic flea/pest solutions. We never had any fleas, ticks, nor heart worms w/o this. The ONLY reason I bought this stuff is because we all of a sudden had 2 fleas show up. That is the most I have seen on any of my pets the past many yrs.
Chewy does an excellent service job. They are wonderful about contacting my vet, then communicating with me to inform me of where my order stands. Thank you, Chewy!

I've found when Frontline and advantage stopped working, Revolution works great. Plus it prevents Heartworm!
My dog has epilepsy so we can not use other certain chewable heart worm prevention, that left a lot of unanswered questions since majority are monthly chews. Our vet informed us on this topical and it hasn’t let us down yet! Easy to apply once a month and it also helps with mange(helpful if you live in Fox populated areas) the only thing this does not prevent is ticks, so we follow up 2 weeks post with a topical tick prevention
this product is easy to use. I dont have to worry that my dog has spit it out somewhere
This medication is easy to apply and does not seem to bother the pups at all. No issues with it so far.
Our dog got canine lice from his yard. Our vet said Revolution works. It did it's job fast.
Revolution is easy to apply and seems to work very well for fleas.
