This gate is attractive, with an easy to open latch, doesn’t damage my walls or door frame, and isn’t a trip hazard.
I’m 67 and I use it multiple times daily. Unlike other gates, it works great, and this is for a 78 inch wide opening.

I wasn't sure how it would work in my situation with a large space and three Golden Retrievers. However, it is great, very sturdy, attractive and adjustable to fit the large doorway. We wanted to keep them out of the living room, but had to put it on the inside of the living room due to the legs sticking out into an area of the dining room we have to walk through. Even though it is set up that way and dogs could push it, it is very sturdy and they totally respect it, don't try to jump over, open the gate or push on it at all. Highly recommended!
Looks great, works even better.

It's tough to find gates for the open floor plans of so many of the new homes these days. One of our dogs recently suffered a herniated disc. We have lots of the white gates that you can make into pens. We've always used those to block the wide openings in transition areas, but you have to prop those up with things and step over them because there's no gate. When she got well enough that she didn't need to be penned, but should not be having the run of the house or jumping on furniture, I was faced with how to block the very wide opening from one part of the house to the living area. It's solid as can be, has a really nice finish, and the gate works very well. We have it in place across the wide opening and can leave the gate open when we're home with them. My only wish is that it would be easier to make smaller. It's a pain having to unscrew the bolts and resize the gate when you just want to quickly move it to a smaller doorway. I also wish it came in white. Still, no complaints. It suits us fine.… more
Sturdy and well balanced

It weighs enough to be pushed against, yet remain upright and balanced with the stabilizing ends. The door is easy to use and we have been able to use it as a gate as well as in an alcove to create a pen. It is not easy to change the size, however.

Perfect gate to keep the fur babies out of those special rooms in your home. Was pleasantly surprised on the sturdiness and quality of this gate, and most importantly...the price was right!

Our dachshund has a bad back.Ordered this to keep her from jumping on the furniture and further hurting herself. This fence/gate is well made and the finish on the wood is nice.
Nicely made, attractive gate!

This gate is perfect for our double door sized opening. I love that it stands on its own, and can be removed easily. The closing mechanism is working well and easy to use, and the door swings both ways and stays open if you push it to a certain point. The only drawback is it is bolted together to a certain width, so doesn't fold up to store, but I still give it 5 stars!
Gate came without screws & other parts
on Oct 18, 2019
This is the second of this freestanding gate that I have ordered. Unlike the first one, the second gate came without the screws and other hardware needed to assemble it; it also came without the instructions for assembly. If i had not already assembled one of these gates, i would be largely in the dark how to put this thing together.
Only good if you don't plan to use the gate.

We've had this less than a week and the gate is broken. We have 2 miniature dachshunds so it's not because the dogs tried to get through or over it. The gate opened and closed easily so it wasn't because we abused it by forcing it. The piece attached to the gate broke into pieces, possibly a bad piece of wood. There was no previous evidence of cracks or damage. Not worth the cost.
Met 100% of my needs

This product met every one of my needs. Free standing requiring no holes in the wall. I can also move it to different doorways if necessary. Door is a must have; I will not climb over gates for safety reasons. (nor do I want guests having to climb over). Adjustable widths. Stable - I have 2 golden retrievers and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. So far all have been respectful of the boundary, hope it stays that way. None of the dogs have attempted to push through the door. Easy assembly, even I could do it. Last but not least I like the finish; it blends in with rest of the decor and doesn't look 'junky'. Love this gate.
