Is this safe to use with my pets in the house?

While Room Shocker is safe for humans, pets, and even plants, we do not recommend being in a confined space while the product is working for any extended period of time. Like most other cleaning solutions, the products may irritate your eyes and throat. It is, however, completely safe to go in and out of the room and/or stay in any other part of the house where the product is not in use.
Will this eliminate smoke?

This may be used for strong odors like cigarette smoke. First-hand and second-hand smoke aren’t the only forms of cigarette and cigar smoke exposure. Third-hand smoke (3HS) is the tar-like residue smell that’s left after someone smokes in a room. Room Shocker oxidizes the organic molecules in third-hand smoke, which destroys the gases and odors that these molecules produce.

Item description unclear on length of usage

Of all the questions asked, even my own, I can't find a straight answer on how long this product lasts. Is it hours, days, weeks? Once you break the seal, how long does this product work until it needs to be replaced? I've lost interest in purchasing this product because no one can give me a straight answer.

Does not work!

We recently bought a home that was a rental. The smell inside was awful in a couple rooms. After reviewing the details of this product, I bought 2 (due to size of the rooms). You could smell this product for a first couple days over the smell of the room but then the room smell came back full force. I do not recommend buying these!! It’s a waste of money!

Could not breathe

Immediately after starting this I started having what seemed like an asthma attack and I do not even have asthma. I have been coughing violently for an hour now and my nose is burning. My cats have also been sneezing everytime they get near it. Took it to the dumpster within the first 15 minutes and am airing out my apt with fans on and windows open. Starting to slowly improve. Would not buy this is you are sensitive to chemicals or have any breathing issue.

OK but not great

I had high hopes for this product, and while it made a difference in the smell of the carpet(old cat pee imo) it did not get rid of the smell by any means. I would be very hesitant to buy this again for $25 since it did not make a big enough difference to even be able to stand being in the room for long.

Works for Cat Urine

Used Room Shocker in a 250 square foot bedroom that our special needs cat has severely soiled. The room is an above garage, carpeted bedroom with independent HVAC. Let the shocker operate for 12 hours, then ventilated. The strong chlorine smell lingered for about 12 hours; however, the cat urine smell is gone. The chlorine smell is annoying but well worth it if you can isolate the rest of the home from the treated area.

Excellent odor reducer

I tried the product with a low expectations. I tried other products to get rid of the musty smell. I'm was pleasantly surprised and will be purchasing one for my cat and basement

Works to remove dog urine smell from carpet

Worked well, but definitely be careful. I had a friend visit for a few days with their dog and it turned out the dog was not housetrained. She peed all over my room and I couldn't get the smell out. I went away for 2 nights and used this in my room while I was gone and it got rid of the lingering dog pee smell! It's now been 2 weeks and there is no faint odor of dog urine, even when it's a humid day. The product is easy to use but I highly recommend using a face mask for the short time it takes to set it up. To prevent any of my animals (2 dogs, 3 cats) from respiratory irritation I closed all windows before I used the product, shut the vents in the room to prevent cirulation into the rest of my house, and then put a towel down outside the door. After I got home I removed the container from the room and opened the windows, then shut the door to let the room air out. I'm so happy with the results that I've purchased another Room Shocker to use in the other rooms the dog peed in!

This really works

This is great! It doesn't mask smells just takes them away. It's really strong especially when you first activate it so you should try to stay out of the area for awhile but it works quick in just a few hours.

It Worked on Skunk Smell

Our dog was sprayed but a skunk one morning. Unfortunately I did not notice the smell on him when he ran in the house. He went and rolled all over our bed. I found this product while searching best ways to get rid of skunk smell and ordered a few. It actually worked! We left it in the room for about 20 hours. Skunk smell was gone and replaced with the smell of a swimming pool - way preferable to the smell of skunk. Within a few hours the majority of the swimming pool smell had disappeared. Took a few weeks for the rest to go away....but again - much better than the smell of skunk! Will be ordering a few more of these to have on hand for future mishaps!

This stuff works!

I have a ferret and if you're a ferret lover you know they can smell. This removed all odor out of the room and the fabrics in the room. I love it!
