Our little tortie developed an allergy and was losing weight and fur. The vet was stymied and prescribed a coarse of steroids thinking an allergy of some kind was involved. The steroids only helped until the meds wore off. Then our little cat started to vomiting frequently, so I decided to switch from the Purina One food we were feeding her to the Royal Canin. Our little one was raised on Royal Canin, but we switched foods a few years ago for reasons to complicated to explain. I decided to go back to the Royal Canin food and our little tortie is thriving. She has her appetite back, she hasn't vomited once since the switch, her fur is coming back and she has put on much needed weight. I thank Royal Canin for her remarkable recovery.
Best option when available
This food was the best option for my senior cat. The main downside is it's constantly out of stock for long periods of time, so I've decided to look for other options. Also, I noticed the feeding portions on the can are different from what's listed on Chewy. If you peel back the label, there's only three options. 8.8lbs gets 1 1/2 cans; 11 lbs gets 1 3/4 cans; 13 lbs gets 2 cans.
My older cats, 12 & 13, have been very fussy about eating for the last year or so. I have tried so many canned and dry foods with little success. When I fed them Royal Canin 12+, I felt like I hit the jackpot. They love it. It is very difficult to find it in the stores, so when I saw Chewy had it, I ordered as much as I could so I won’t run out and have to feed them something else. I like that this is for older cats too, who have different needs. Chewy was great. They sent it right away and I couldn’t be more pleased.
My picky cat loves it
I have an almost 15 year old tortie who has IBD and is especially picky when it comes to food. She will usually gobble it up for 2 weeks or so, then stick her nose up at it. So far, she has not done that with the aging food. She actually begs to eat dinner, follows me meowing when I put her food down. I like that it is a very wet food because I noticed she was having some trouble with constipation. It also makes it very easy for me to mix in her powdered meds. Would definitely recommend.
Pretty good food
Another good food that most cats like. I have one that doesn’t like it much, but the others do. The can size is good too. Not so tiny that I have to open two cans, but not so big that I waste food.
The empty can smells!!
Just got my new order of "Aging", thatI have ordered many times. However, this is so strange, but after emptying the can of food in to two cat bowls this morning, the empty can had a strange smell. It has a smell like that of (forgive me) a wet dirt dog. So strange. So, the smell is from the inside can material...not the food. I called Royal Canin asking if the food was safe, but was told the would not know for two weeks. It was hard to give her the numbers on the bottom of the can because it was imprinted twice and hard to read. I am goin g to e-mail them. Also if the next can has this awful smell, I will con tact Chewy, which is what the Royal Canon representative said o do. So, I don't know if the food is safe for now.
Royal Canin is Riley's go to brand and Mom likes Chewy's service
16 year old Riley diagnosed with kidney disease. Has been a struggle to find kidney food he is willing to eat. He does like Royal Canin kidney diet, but gets bored with same food every day. I found this Royal Canin Aging 12+ with a lower protein/phos to supplement and also mix with other brands of kidney diet food, which entices him to eat it. Have had success with Royal Canin products and Chewy's service.
Keeps Mine Happy
This food keeps my 15 yr old man happy and healthy, just wish some of the cans would arrive without dents. This food is worth every penny as my elder kitty eats it without getting sick at all, so his weight is maintained. <3
Senior cats rule
My 2 senior cats are totally impressed with this food. They look at me like, “What took you so long to find this?”. 1 cat has no teeth, and the mushiness of this food is perfect for her. The other cat has had constipation problems with dry food and is enjoying getting back to normal with this wet cat food. Thank you Chewy for always putting our pets first.
17 Year Old Cat Loves It
Chewy's was out of my 17+ year old cat's regular senior food, so I thought I'd try this. My cat absolutely loves it and leaves a clean plate every time with no stomach issues. I'll be buying this also from now on.
