Description

Spaying or neutering changes a cat's life, and fortunately, so does Royal Canin Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+ Dry Cat Food. Spaying and neutering is a simple operation that has a big effect on hormone levels in cats. And while these changes have many positive outcomes, like a friendlier demeanor and longer life expectancy, there is one challenge. As soon as 48 hours after surgery, changing hormones can cause a cat’s energy needs to decrease by 30% while also causing a 20% rise in appetite. This can lead to significant weight gain. As experts in health nutrition, Royal Canin designed Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+, a specific formula that helps fight the first signs of aging while maintaining your cat’s ideal body weight.

Key Benefits
  • Recommended for cats from 7 to 12 years old to fight the first signs of aging while maintaining an ideal weight.
  • Formulated with an adapted balance of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, EPA and DHA.
  • L.I.P. digestive science innovation uses protein selected for its high digestibility, which helps reduce stool odor.
  • Adapted phosphorous levels help to support renal function, as kidney decline is common in senior cats.
  • Ring-shaped kibble helps to slow ingestion speed and provide necessary nutrients at the right levels.

    NEW DIET FOR HER

    By on

She is 14 years old but didn't like the 12+ flavor. She lost her older friend and had to change her food from a prescription her older friend was on because they are grazers and could not have different foods at one time.

    Kitty refused to eat

    By on Top 250 Contributor

My almost 14 yr old kitty usually loves Royal Canin foods but he refused to eat this one. I tried for several weeks with no luck. Ended up donating to shelter. I am not sure what the difference is but this formula must be different.

    Keeps Older Cat Lean

    By on

I’ve had my 8 year old cat on this food for a while now as I found he was getting too chunky on other foods. He’s not overly active and this formula works well for him. Royal Canin is a great brand that is formulated by veterinary nutritionists and tends to have better palatability in comparison to other brands, so pets tend to like it more.

    Great food for fat cats

    By on

I wish I'd put my chunk on this food years ago. She's been on it for a week and there's been an amazing change already. She doesn't beg for food anymore, she has a ton of energy and it's also helped with her constipation problems. Too soon to tell if she'll lose weight but I'm optimistic since she's eating less and working off some calories now.

Helping an Older Cat Lose Some LBs

    By on Top 100 Contributor

While the ingredients aren't the best, the science behind Royal Canin doesn't lie. My family member's cat is quite obese at 17lbs and very inactive with some early signs of arthritis. Without adding any exercise to her day she has lost 1lb on this diet, I'm hoping with added exercise she will continue to lose more and help her live a healthier life. Weight loss in cats, especially obese ones, should always be taken slow to help about avoid hepatic lipadosis.

    He likes it!

    By on

My 11 year old cat Dorian is overweight. I have been trying to fine a low calorie dry food for 3 years he would eat. He really likes this one. It is too soon to tell if he has lost any weight but I am very hopeful.

    Great dry cat food

    By on

I chose this dry cat food, since both my cats could use a filling food. Both of my cats like this food (but they prefer the wet kind of cat food).

    quality brand

    By on

The only food I've ever bought has been hill's science diet (weight control, senior, most recently prescription kidney diet). However, since my cat has kidney problems, she is not liking any food and has gained alot of weight (I know, odd for a kidney cat). So now I mix this with the hill's prescription kidney dry food and she always eats this first. Hopefully this will at least keep her from gaining more weight. To me this seems like a high quality brand of cat food.
