Description

Spaying or neutering changes a cat's life, and fortunately, so does Royal Canin Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+ Dry Cat Food. Spaying and neutering is a simple operation that has a big effect on hormone levels in cats. And while these changes have many positive outcomes, like a friendlier demeanor and longer life expectancy, there is one challenge. As soon as 48 hours after surgery, changing hormones can cause a cat’s energy needs to decrease by 30% while also causing a 20% rise in appetite. This can lead to significant weight gain. As experts in health nutrition, Royal Canin designed Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+, a specific formula that helps fight the first signs of aging while maintaining your cat’s ideal body weight.

Key Benefits
  • Recommended for cats from 7 to 12 years old to fight the first signs of aging while maintaining an ideal weight.
  • Formulated with an adapted balance of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, EPA and DHA.
  • L.I.P. digestive science innovation uses protein selected for its high digestibility, which helps reduce stool odor.
  • Adapted phosphorous levels help to support renal function, as kidney decline is common in senior cats.
  • Ring-shaped kibble helps to slow ingestion speed and provide necessary nutrients at the right levels.

On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. My Cats Love It

By BaileyGirl on Feb 15, 2021

I just wish this came in a larger size. My cats loved it immediately. They gobble it down, but less you think that means the "appetite control" aspect isn't working, they have both lost weight. The male now weighs 17.4 lbs (down from 18); and the female weighs 11.6 lbs (down from 12). We made the mistake of giving them kitten food until they were a year old believing they needed the special ingredients, but we were wrong and all that happened is they got fat, very fat. We rotate this food, Royal Canin Weight Care, and Hills Perfect Weight. We have been giving the latter two foods for some time while we've only been giving them the Appetite Control for about 6-8 weeks. No weight loss before this I just wish this came in a larger size. My crazy cat eats this. Always.

By BadBinx on Mar 6, 2021

My Veterinarian recommended this for my kitten. He was a rescue and neutered too early. She said it would help him stay at a good weight. He is now a big kitty but not too big. 12lbs is a bit too much weight but he is staying there. I do not feed as much as the bag recommends because it’s too much for any cat. Just my opinion.

    Always a safe bet

By MandM on Mar 15, 2021

Both cats always like this one. I try and mix things up and introduce other brands/flavors from time to time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This one always does. Good one to have on hand all the time.

    Great food

By Graciesmom on Jan 14, 2021

Gracie, our rescue cat, had always just snacked, and we did not have to worry about her weight, I just kept her bowl full. We have moved to a place where she cannot go outside, and she started gaining weight. We switched to this food, and she loves it just as much, and weight better under control. I love Royal Canin, her coat is like silk, and she is very, very healthy. Best food ever.

    Not sure about it

By Tower on Feb 6, 2021

I got this for my old, fat cat but my kitten eats it too, and I'm worried that it isn't good for her. She is under a year old. However, my old cat will eat it if it's the only thing available.

    By Carrie926 on Jan 19, 2021

I put my 8 year old female on this to help her lose a few pounds and stop eating dry food constantly. She HATES it. Won’t touch it. It also has a weird chemical like smell.

    Cats love it

By Miann on Nov 6, 2020

Our cats were acquiring some extra COVID-19 weight, like many of us, so we switched to this food. They love it! It’s too soon to tell if it’s helping, but I’m delighted my picky boys are are eating it and seem satisfied.

    NEW DIET FOR HER

By Rusty on Jul 31, 2020

She is 14 years old but didn't like the 12+ flavor. She lost her older friend and had to change her food from a prescription her older friend was on because they are grazers and could not have different foods at one time.

    Kitty refused to eat

    By Toby2 on Jul 14, 2020 top500Contributor

My almost 14 yr old kitty usually loves Royal Canin foods but he refused to eat this one. I tried for several weeks with no luck. Ended up donating to shelter. I am not sure what the difference is but this formula must be different.
