Description

Spaying or neutering changes a cat's life, and fortunately, so does Royal Canin Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+ Dry Cat Food. Spaying and neutering is a simple operation that has a big effect on hormone levels in cats. And while these changes have many positive outcomes, like a friendlier demeanor and longer life expectancy, there is one challenge. As soon as 48 hours after surgery, changing hormones can cause a cat’s energy needs to decrease by 30% while also causing a 20% rise in appetite. This can lead to significant weight gain. As experts in health nutrition, Royal Canin designed Spayed/Neutered Appetite Control 7+, a specific formula that helps fight the first signs of aging while maintaining your cat’s ideal body weight.

Key Benefits
  • Recommended for cats from 7 to 12 years old to fight the first signs of aging while maintaining an ideal weight.
  • Formulated with an adapted balance of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, EPA and DHA.
  • L.I.P. digestive science innovation uses protein selected for its high digestibility, which helps reduce stool odor.
  • Adapted phosphorous levels help to support renal function, as kidney decline is common in senior cats.
  • Ring-shaped kibble helps to slow ingestion speed and provide necessary nutrients at the right levels.

Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

    great for piggy kitty

    By on

I currently feed my kitty , Daisy the RC weight but she’s always in her food bowl .. like literally every 15 min . I added this in as a mix and it has helped tremendously . I do about a 50/50 mix . She recently had all her teeth extracted due to stomatitis and the weight is very small kibble so I thought that would be easiest for her to eat but she seems to have no problem with this either . My two other boy cats like this too and they munch on it as well . I’ve tried other brands but end up in the vets office . Since making the switch to RC everyone seems to love it and no more tummy issues due to its high digestibility . I have even noticed them being more playful . Win win !!

Cat Loves It, Vet Loves It

    By on

My cat has loved this stuff since day one. I'm currently mixing it with half of the spayed/neutered 7+ and half of her old food. Some how she roots around and eats all of this first. Also, about a week after purchasing the new food, my cat was in the vet with a uti. At first I was worried it had something to do with the food, so I told my vet about the switch. To my surprise, they said this food is great for her and to keep her on it. :-D

    Both cats love these

    By on

While these were recommended by my vet for my "big boy" (22 pounds!), my little guy loves them too! Since they are both "fixed", it is a good treat to give them!

    Healthier Cat, Great Quality Food

    By on

I had been feeding my cat Iams indoor for years. With every vet visit she was gaining weight. My vet recommended a higher fiber food, and lower portions. I looked around, and this was the highest fiber food I could find. I bought from Chewy because my local store didn't have it in the 7+. I am now on the 2nd bag of this food. My 7 year old female has more energy, and is so much more active since switching her food. She used to barely play, now she really runs after her toys like a kitten! The appetice control is nice. She is a major begger. It took about a week for her to get used to the smaller portions, but the high fiber is helping her feel full. For about a week she started begging again (it's been about 2 months on this food), but now she seems to have calmed down again. Overall she seems happier, healthier, and she LOVES the taste! To switch her over gradually the vet said to mix half portion of the old food with half the new for about a week, and when I did she picked around the old food and ate this first. She seems to like the taste more than any food I've tried with her before. I would definately recommend! I know it's higher priced than many other foods, but it seems to be much better quality, and well worth the money I spent for a healthier cat! I'm not sure if she's losing weight yet, the vet will weigh her again in a few months. But I'm hopeful it will help get her into shape! … more

A Nice Addition To My Cat's Existing Diet

    By on

I have an 8 year old Siamese who has always had a weight problem no matter what food he is eating, but the Royal Canin has so many wonderfully specialized foods, that after transitioning from their prescription diets, it was the natural choice to continue supplying his nutritional needs. I typically use the Royal Canin Weight Care because of the lighter fats and smaller kibble, but my guy likes a little variety in his diet, so I decided to incorporate the appetite control, and so far he loves it. The kibble is still fairly small but circular, and he has not had any adverse reactions to it, making it another great product from the Royal Canin line. Great to control your cats food intake

    By on

This food is really great to control your cats intake. It's 4 -6 hours before I have to put more food down . Sometimes even 8 hours . I highly recommend this food .

    Corn is 1st ingredient!

    By on

I used to buy RC's Siamese formula, but now that my kids are older, I've tried the 7+ formulas. They aren't crazy about them and prefer H's Oral Care and Hairball formulas, which have chicken as the first ingredient. Many people don't know that the first incredient is what a food has the most of - our food too. It's disappointing that RC hasn't changed in this century to provide more meat and less grain to our furry family members.

Royal Canin Appetite Control for cats.

    By on

My "chubby" 20 lb Tuxedo cat really likes this food ! I don't think he's lost any weight, but at least he doesn't wake me up at 4am to feed him ! This food helps alot if your gone for awhile. When I get home he doesn't cry to be fed right away. Works for my guy.
