On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. Why Pure Breed Dogs Need Tailored Nutrition

From their personalities to their distinctive physiologies, pure breed dogs have unique characteristics that make them sought-after and beloved companions. When choosing a formula, it's important to keep in mind the unique characteristics of your breed including:

Face and Jaw: All dogs fall into two basic jaw types: Brachycephalic or mesocephalic. Breeds with short, broad muzzles (like Bulldogs) are examples of a brachycephalic jaw. Breeds with a longer muzzle (like Labrador Retrievers) are examples of mesocephalic breeds. The jaw type, and even biting patterns can affect how a breed picks up kibble.

Skin Types: The skin's most important function is to serve as a barrier of protection-but not all breeds have the same skin type. From wrinkled and folded (which traps heat and moisture) to sensitive or water resistant, precise levels of key nutrients help to support a breed's unique skin health needs.

Distinctive Coats: There's more to a coat than meets the eye. From the color and texture to undercoats, each pure breed dog has a unique coat with unique needs.

Breed Specific Formulas

Every dog is unique. From the small, flat-faced Pug to the obesity-prone Labrador Retriever, Royal Canin Breed Health Nutrition is tailor-made to address the unique needs of pure breed dogs. These breed specific formulas benefit from the latest Royal Canin research on the selection of the best protein sources, unique nutrients and tailor-made kibbles.

Formulated for Beagles

Royal Canin's Beagle Adult Dry Dog Food is designed exclusively for pure breed Beagles over 1 months old.

Ideal weight: Beagles are cheerful dogs, bred originally for tracking hares by scent, and are even-tempered, intelligent and determined. They're also known for being voracious eaters with a tendency to put on weight. Beagle Adult Dry Dog Food helps maintain an ideal weight with an appropriate calorie content.

Food intake control: This formula contains a blend of fibers and an exclusive kibble shape that helps slow down the rate of food intake by encouraging Beagles to chew.

Bone & joint support: Beagles are little athletes with stamina and energ to spare. A sturdy, compact body combined with a natural tendenc to put on weight are two factors that can put stress on joints Beagle Adult Dry Dog Food is enriched with EPA and DHA to hel support healthy bones and joints and maintain an ideal weight.

Exclusive Kibble

Beagles tend to eat quickly without chewing their food. The cross-shaped kibble featured in this formula helps slow down the rate of ingestion and encourage chewing.

Why Royal Canin?

Over time, Royal Canin has accumulated vast knowledge about cats and dogs that only extensive research, scientific study and tireless talks with pet professionals, veterinarians and owners can provide. Adult Dog Food

    By on

Like this dog food so far, and so does my beagle. I was concerned about the big pieces bc she’s eats so fast I thought she would puke them up but they seem to be having the opposite effect, she seems to eat them slower, for now anyway. Love the pkging and the prompt delivery.

    It depends on your beagle!

    By on

My elderly female beagle will eat anything, including raw broccoli stalks and steamed cabbage, so she loved it. I have noticed that she does not wake me up real early, whining for food. However, she still begs for food after she has eaten, and we are eating our meal. Our second female beagle is about 5 years old. She eats the food, but not all that enthusiastically. She now is not as hungry in the morning, and sometimes wants to eat her food a bit later. There are no miracles where beagles and food are involved, but this food does help some. Very expensive, however.

    Expensive but not for us

This food did not agree with our beagle’s tummy even though we gradually blended it with her old dog food over a period of a week.

Not tolerated by my hearty beagle

    By on

After being highly recommended, we transitioned our beagle from Blue Buffalo Basics to Royal Canin for Beagles. Our beagle began vomiting daily. Needless to say, we had to try a different food. She is now tolerating Purina Pro Plan Plus very well.

    Didn't Work Out

    By on Top 250 Contributor

Sadly, this didn't work out for my dog. She had a really hard time adjusting from puppy food to adult food. The bag arrived with a sizeable tear in it so not sure if it was stale upon arrival and that's why she didn't take to it or not. Was really happy with Royal Canin puppy but we won't be using their dry dog food.

    Royal Canin- Beagle

    By on

At first thought this was a marketing ploy to get people to buy this food just because a specific breed was on package. But I no longer feel that way due to how my Beagle has slowed down her eating at mealtime and is dropping some weight at a healthy rate.

    Glad I Switched

    By on

Recently I started my 12 year old beagle with good results. With the larger kibble it takes her a "little bit" longer to eat her food! Delivery in 2 days and I will reorder.
