We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
How are Royal Canin diets preserved?
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain grains?
Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.
How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?
Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Your veterinarian will consider multiple factors when recommending an appropriate diet.

Fantastic food!
By DGShields on Feb 3, 2021
My pugs are very picky eaters and we have no trouble feeding this yummy food to our fur babies mixed in with the Royal Canin Pug dry food. I am one of those people that doesn't like to give my dogs anything that doesn't smell delicious to ME. With Royal Canin we have had no problems. My youngest has transitioned from the puppy canned (which was fantastic) to this and she is doing GREAT. Our oldest has a sensitive stomach and he does fantastic with this food. I would absolutely recommend this food for picky eaters.

I feed my dog Royal Canin, switching between "Weight Control" and "Beauty Healthy Skin." She loves this food. I highly recommend Royal Canin canned and dry dog food.

Good When She's Done Holding Out For People Food
By Celya723 on Oct 21, 2020
Good food that smells delicious, has a great texture and dices well when used as a topping on kibble. My dog licks the bowl clean and asks for more when she eats this food. Her fur is lusterous and gleams from enjoying this as part of her diet as well as having firm bm's with this coupled with a kibble base. Otherwise it's soft to runny.

one year old terrier loves this but now misses it
By DECC on Jun 20, 2020
My one year old terrier just upgraded from the puppy version of this and she loves it just like she did the other. Unforunately only 3 cans into the case she developed pancreatitis after a steroid shot for allergies. Now she is on a low fat diet and can no longer eat this. She's not liking that nearly as much as this. I'll probably donate it to a local shelter. I"m sure some dog will enjoy it.

Royal Canin Beauty Healthy Skin can food
By LindaH on May 10, 2020
My dog's skin has become dry as she ages. A friend gave her a can as a gift. She loved it, so we ordered a case to mix with her regular Royal Canin dry food. She no longer scratches her back on the carpet. It must be working!
