Transition Instructions

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

    Tummy problems with this product

By Jackie on Aug 26, 2021

My mini dachshund, a very picky eater, loved these Royal Canin pouches but unfortunately they didn’t love her. They upset her tummy. The RC wet canned dachshund food, that she likes but doesn’t love, has not been available so we tried this. She does fine on the RC dry food for doxies but I have to grate Parmesan cheese on it to get her to eat. Yes, she’s spoiled. So, my dog cannot eat this product so I can’t recommend it, but I do recommend RC dry kibble for doxies and the wet canned if you can get it.

    The BABY Loves it!

By lexiemomma on Jun 24, 2021

Like most, my sweet baby, Lexie, is a picky picky eater. She would go 1-2 days and turn her nose up at 20 different kinds of food. Until I found these GEMS. SHE LOVES THEM. You know it’s good food when she has it on both ears & on top of her head too. She is a happy baby so momma is very happy too!!

    Ended the hunger pangs

By sylvie on Feb 24, 2021

I've been feeding my 8-year old dachshund the dry Teckel formula since she became an adult. She has always been given the recommended allowance for her size/weight. Recently for some reason, she was always hungry, whining for more to eat even after I increased her portions a bit. She was starting to gain weight with the increase. I decided to try the wet food. She gets about 10 dry orts in the AM and PM and the wet food at lunch when she is more active. It seems to do the trick. No more whining for food during the day. I'm monitoring her weight. I may have to split the wet food for AM and Lunch and dry food in the PM. (I gave this 9 out of 10 because results will vary from dog to dog I've been feeding my 8-year old dachshund the dry Teckel formula since she became an adult. Good but...

By Dachshundmom on Mar 9, 2021

My dogs love this food but I prefer to get it in cans rather than pouches. It’s just easier to deal with. Royal Canin has been out of the cans for weeks!

    Game changer

By GiGisMom on May 8, 2020

My 14 year old doxie princess was barely eating and not really enthused about meal time. She is so spunky and ready for dinner well before normal meal time. My other dogs are not so sure why they are left out ....but not the princess :)

    It's #1 with me

By Digitsmom on Jan 18, 2020

My doggie loves it so much! He even likes out the package and licks the fork. He picks up his bowl and carries it away from the cats because he is NOT going to share even a small lick. Great stuff.

    Pouches vs cans

By Sadie on Jan 24, 2020

I prefer receiving the Royal canon dachshund wet food in the small cans vs pouches as the food looks a lot fresher. I do not like the pouches.
