Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.
Royal Canin knows that some dogs need more advanced nutritional support than a maintenance diet offers. Their team is made up of veterinarians and nutritionists who develop formulas for dogs with unique care needs, taking every detail into consideration so your dog can be his most magnificent self.

What ingredients help provide "comfort ", please?

The dried fish protein digest is rich in glutamine acid and glycine which increases GABA, a stress inhibitory neurotransmitter that limits stress hormones.
Can I feed this to my dog daily in place or her regular dog daily meals. Or only for anxiety
Answer by • Jul 30, 2021
Royal Canin Comfort Care Dog Food is a specialized diet designed to soothe her apprehensive and stress-induced behavior. It is a complete and balanced diet that can be used to go along a dry food or be fed on its own. If unsure, we recommend speaking with veterinarian for the best option.
Does it calm a dog if she gets a can prior to a thunderstorm?
Answer by • Oct 30, 2020
The Royal Canin Comfort Care Canned Dog Food provides a healthy meal for dogs who worry about thunderstorms or other anxiety-inducing activities.
Athena loves this food and is a little more spunky as of recent for being 10. Too bad some the Royal Canin line is hard to get.

Delivers as promised!
I recently changed my dog’s food over from grain free and after speaking with his vet and doing some research, I found this product through Royal Canin. I’m so grateful that we made the switch before July 4th because wow, what a difference this made this year versus last year! He’s an anxious guy to start and also a picky eater but not only does he love this stuff but he didn’t tremble during the fireworks this year like he has in prior years. His poops are also looking much healthier and more regular so I feel good about feeding him a far superior quality of food than he had been eating previously. This is a great product!

unsure about this food
My one dog liked the taste but vomited after it at times. My other dog ate the dry &wet combined and got violently ill. He had explosive vomiting & watery diarrhea for 3 days. I had to take him to my vet who couldn't find anything but gas & upset stomach. But he did need fluids & meds to Help resolve after radiographs & bloodwork done. Was an expensive food trial. I actually slowly introduced also. Afraid to try again, so I have a lot of unused food.

comfort care does the job
senior mini rat terrier has anxiety . this product helps him by relaxing him and aids him to hold his food down . cost a bit more , but the results are worth the cost. I recommend this for your senior dog .

This Royal Canin Comfort Care wet foot it’s not a healthy food! Very greasy and made with a variety of animals by-products! Made my dog very sick!

Great product
I have a reactive and anxious mini poodle who sometimes gets picky about eating and needs a topper. I was excited to see an over the counter comfort diet formula, and have been using this as a topper or toy stuffing while we settle a new puppy into our home. My older dog has been adjusting better than expected, I can't say that it was the food but it may have given us a little boost. Either way he loves the food and it works great for stuffing toys as well
