We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.
How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?

Thank you Royal Canin for not conforming!!!!!!!
By Dogmom3 on Jan 27, 2021
I will only be using Royal Canin for as long as it is made. All 3 of my dogs thrive on your food! I like how you never jumped on the trendy bandwagon. You don’t have a grain free regular food....you don’t say no corn! You don’t say no by-products! You don’t say chicken is the first ingredient( bc it isn’t when the water is removed- ingredients are by weight). All of these slogans have been used to appeal the the human and sell dog food. You never did this bc you know corn and by-products are highly nutritious and digestible when done properly! My little chihuahua mix loves this food! He also loves his sister and brother’s large breed digestive care.

Fast but sloppy.
By Isaac23 on Feb 17, 2021
The shipping was incredibly fast and arrived sooner than anticipated, must be why the package was nearly destroyed and my product was very visible before picking it up from out side of my door. Will purchase again, hopefully with better care for the package.

Biscuit’s choice
By Biscuit on Feb 10, 2021
I switched my pup Biscuit to adult food and thought we’d try this. I mixed the new food with the puppy kibble to ease him into it and he made a mess sorting out the old kibble to just eat the new kibble. My picky eater is loving it so far!

dog owner extraordinaire
By GAB21 on Jan 7, 2021
The sealer that they put on these bags do NOT work! Last three bags the seal breaks as soon as I open the bag! First bag had a Velcro closure that worked fine. For the price of this dog food, it should have a closure that works!

Perfect for my Chi
By Gypsy on Dec 21, 2020
I’ve been feeding him Royal Canin since he was a puppy, he’s now almost three and still acts like a puppy. Everyone compliments on how soft he is, I think it’s because of this food. I feed him this along with the wet version of the same brand, he enjoys it. I’ve tried switching brands once and he wasn’t having it.

Royal Canin

I prefer the food with the Papillon picture on the front and that’s what I usually buy. This last order it was not available so I had to get this Chihuahua one. Please restock the one with the Papillon on the bag.

It’s the best.

This is the best dog food I have found for my finicky Chihuahua. Plus he poops way less when eating this compared to other foods.

My dog loves it
By Sandra on Jan 16, 2021
I had my chihuahua on one particular food for a few years and she started to eat less every day. A friend told me about this food and it did the trick. She absolutely loves it!

My old man loves this food. He’s generally not into trying new foods but since I started my puppy out on it he’d been sneaking bits of the puppy’s food. He loves it!!

Dog didn't care for...
By Henrytheeighth on Nov 4, 2020
My chihuahua/rat terrier mix was having digestive issues-gas, constipation, so I thought I'd try a change of food. Previously he was eating whatever the other larger dogs ate. He doesn't like this new food and instead goes for the large breed food I bought for my Great Dane! Of course the Dane loves the Chihuahua food! I'll try another brand/flavor and hope he likes it.
