Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

    Diet Food Success

By PKimmell on Jun 6, 2021

My 25 lb. cat was taken off prescription dry food and we were told to put him on metabolic wet food - which we had a horrible time finding in stock ANYWHERE. I decided to try Weight Care by Royal Canin after trying four other so-called "weight management" wet foods and my cat really does like this one....I mix it with a little water and he eats it right up. He hasn't lost any weight but it's early days! I'm just happy I found something he WOULD eat.

My boy loves it but they need to restock!

By Becca on Apr 28, 2021

I’d rate 5 stars, but it’s been unavailable for a while. This has been key in my one guy’s weight loss. He only eats pate and this is perfect. He went from 18lbs to 13.5lbs! He has a very sensitive stomach, but this was great for him and didn’t cause any issues. I’m desperate for this to come back in stock. I’ve tried many other types of food (poor dude is struggling with stomach upset now) and this one is the thing that worked for years. PLEASE restock it.

    cats like it

By JaneJ on May 22, 2021

The cats like it, but it smells terrible to me! As long as they like it, it's fine. Hard to say if it will help them lose weight. I rotate this with 2 other weight management canned foods and their primary food is Purina focus chow

    Not for my cat

By Missy on Apr 22, 2021

My cat won't eat it. Now I'm stuck with two cases of it. I thought it was the slices in gravy, so it's my mistake. But, I wouldn't recommend it.

Sad to see a decrease in can size and an increase in price

By travelkitty on Mar 9, 2021

We order this regularly so when I went to go place my most recent order I noticed there was a change in the can size from 5.8 to 5.1 (12%) and yet the price has gone up. Does not make me a fan of Royal Canine as a company and I may start looking for a new weight management food for my cat!

    Great for that one cat...

By DFFFF on Dec 12, 2020

I have three little monsters, two of which are in great shape. One of them is eleven years old and is used to being able to eat when she wants which is important because she's six pounds full grown. Cat number two is a Bengal and he's always had access to food at all times, he's also in excellent condition. Cat number three is a rescue who was getting a bit on the chunk side and approaching two years old. Every morning they get breakfast of wet food before I go to work or when I get up on my days off. Number three was beginning to really pack on some weight with the Royal Canin sensitive stomach that other two get (the dry food is also RC sensitive stomach). I switched number three to this weight I have three little monsters, two of which are in great shape. Cats love it!

By Michie on Mar 10, 2021

Tried it and am surprised how much they like it! I can sneak in their meds and there is no problem. Now that they are eating it I am waiting to see the weight loss.

    Cat loves it

By Shayde on Dec 11, 2020

I am a very overweight cat and am hoping to shed weight with this food. I've only added it to my diet recently but I have been feeling a bit more energetic lately, which is nice, I'm 8 and really need to stop lounging on the couch all day and this food tastes as good as some of the higher calorie cans my roommate has presented me with in the past. She seems pleased.
