When switching to Royal Canin from a previous dog food: do not suddenly change dog food, but rather mix in the new dog food over a period of seven to ten days.

Not the best
By SteinwayD on Feb 23, 2021
If you don't care too much about the quality of your dog's food and need to buy it in bulk, then this brand is fine. Your dog will survive. However, Royal Canin provides little in the way of high-quality protein or fats. The main ingredient of this formula is Brewers Rice, which is a simple processed grain and quite unhealthy. Dogs need protein-rich diets which mimic the diet of their ancestors. This brand is highly processed and loaded with low-quality carbohydrates. My French Bulldog is quite blasé about this kibble and clearly is not too excited about his meals. We will be switching to a higher quality kibble shortly as this one is not worth the *slightly* cheaper price.

This food worked after a case of Giardia and vomiting from prior food
By Ravenschow on Feb 4, 2021
I tried this food after reading hundreds of foods online for my french bulldog puppy. When I got her the breeder said some diarrhea was normal as she was being rehomed but when I started to see blood I went to the vet. Turns out she had Giardia (parasite) so they put her on 2 different meds and prescription food until it cleared up. When I reintroduced her prior food she immediately began to vomit though we did the slow transition recommended. I called the vet they said to place her on boiled chicken and rice. I decided to give Royal Canin a try. She loves it and within 2 days her coat is super shiny and soft. Her stools have returned to normal after a few days. The pieces of food are cashew shaped but my puppy devours this in about 20 seconds. Though I wish it were cheaper and came in a bigger bag (this was the only complaint from prior reviews) I will deal with it. After seeing my baby vomit all night it was scary and if this is what her tummy likes so be it. I've learned more about puppy poop in the past month that I will gladly pay for her to have regular stools without having to call the vet repeatedly. … more

Only food he will eat!
By Olivia on Dec 18, 2020
I have tried multiple dog foods and my pup never really liked them. He would either ignore the food or nibble through out the day when he got hungry enough. Very rarely did he ever have an empty bowl. This food is the only kind he has ever been excited about. He loves meal time now. As soon as I put the food in his bowl he starts eating and finishes it all in one sitting- he never used to do that! If you have a picky pup too, try this!

Vet recommended this food for my 8 weekold frenchy
By Mack on Dec 6, 2020
The breeder had my puppy on a raw diet when I first got her but she wasn’t finishing all her food and it needed so many added supplements. The vet strongly recommended Royal Canin dog food so we slowly made the switch. My puppy immediately loved it and would finish every serving. We still use a few supplements and vitamins but she’s definitely getting everything she needs from the kibble. At 8weeks old she was and 2.7 pounds, she’s now 5 months and 20 pounds of playful energy.

Can’t get enough!!
By Nikki on Dec 28, 2020
Our puppy loves this food so much we use it as training treats too! He can’t get enough of it and we wish we we able to get more of it as well in a bigger bag option. One bag doesn’t last too long.
