Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?

We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?

Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.

How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?

Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?

Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. My Cat Absolutely Loves it

    By on

I was a little concerned when my vet asked me to change my cat's diet. She is about 9 years old and very finicky, but getting a little overweight due to inactivity. Well, she absolutely loves her new food, does not mind at all that is it all one flavor every day. Like they say, you pay for what you get. The lower priced foods really do not have the nutrition that this brand does. Recommend to others.

    Need more gravey ?

    By on

I haven't tried this food yet but I will with my next order. I have read the reviews and for those folks who wanted more gravy I will give this suggestion...just put a little Swansons beef or chicken broth ( lower sodium) on it. I have been doing this for years with my cats...they love it. My vet thought it was a good idea and saw no problem with it. Good luck

All of our cats and quickly growing kittens enjoy this

    By on

They eat this catfood faster than I can put it on the plate. One of our kittens comes running when she hears the pop of the can lid!

    They did it again.

    By on

My two Russian Blues have enjoyed Royal Canin Instinctive for 7 years. Now that they are approaching 8, I changed their moist food to Instinctive 7+. They like the new version as much or more than their original food. AND Chewy came through with their proven fast delivery. Thank you both, Royal Canin and CHEWY!

    7+ Satisfies Picky Eaters

    By on

Grayson and Shadow have been on Adult Instinctive and Digest Sensitive. They are now approaching their senior years and need a change. Both these boys are very picky so I was leery of switching to another type of food. I didn’t need to worry. They cleaned the plate and were begging for more.

    Perfect Meal

    By on

My cat has issues with her joints in all four legs. She's about 10 years old. Getting her on this diet has alleviated my having to give her medicine for her joints and she loves this food. So far, so good!

Great but, always out of stock.

    By on

My, cats really love this unfortunately, twice that I have gone to order it, it has been out of stock. If, this item is so popular it needs to be kept in stock. Due, to this misfortune I will be checking Pet Smart and other online deliveries and order from there. It, would have been a five star but, due to its unavailability, I am unable to give it five.
