Transition Instructions
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

What is the phosphorus in a dry matter basis?
Answer by • Dec 26, 2018
This formula has a Phosphorus content of 1.22% on a dry matter basis.
I usually feed my 6 pound cat one can a day, along with allowing her to eat dry food whenever she wants to. She has to eat wet food for 10-14 days because of dental surgery. I have no idea how many cans I should give her every day. I need some advice.

Since my two cats are over 11 years old, I thought it was time to advance to food for older cats. This brand is a top one, so I hoped that they'd appreciate this wet food choice. NOT so! One cat sniffed then walked off; the other cat licked the abundant gravy off the pellets of solid food and will not eat those pellets. I've tried three times, to no avail. I will be donating the rest of the case of this expensive food, needless to say.

Instinctive 7+ is Perfect!
My cats love this food. I switched them to 7+ from another brand and they would hardly eat it. They prefer shreds with gravy and their previous food was a pate' They eat their Royal Canin right up.

Royal Canin
My one cat only eats gravy foods. She's now 8 yrs, so this is a good choice as she ages. She also eats the Royal Canin Instinctive.

Great food cat loves it, keep away for now
Yes- keep away if you happen to see it. If your senior cat loves it you may be in the same boat as me- past six months has been a struggle to find. Try it once they get their act together.

Great Food!
My cats like it. They had loose bowls the first week, but I think that is from changing the food. Their bowl movements are fine now. I will order it again.

RC Instinctive
I ordered this food for my cats because the one I usually order was out of stock. I was relieved to see my very picky cats liked this one as well.

Our two bengals love this!
Our cats have been eating Royal Canin canned and dry foods for their entire lives. Until purchasing this 7+ variety, they had been eating the regular adult instinctive ever since they graduated from kitten food. When the regular was out of stock, I decided to try the 7+ after realizing that my babies are going to be 8 this year. I was a little concerned that it would be different enough that they would turn their noses up at it, but they consumed it without hesitation. Both of my cats are extremely healthy and active after a lifetime of Royal Canin. We do control their portions so that they maintain healthy weights. Based on our experience, I highly recommend this product. Also: kudos to Chewy for their excellent customer service!

Siamese Eating Again
One of our Siamese cats will not eat any wet food unless it is Thin Slices in Gravy. Royal Canin ran out of the Adult instinctive which he was eating, so we ordered the 7+ instinctive and he loves it. I would say cat back on track to healthy eating.
