Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?

We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?

Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain grains?

Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.

How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?

Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?

Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Your veterinarian will consider multiple factors when recommending an appropriate diet.

    Great Service!

My cats love Royal Canin. I love that when I buy something and my pets don't like it, Chewy refunds my order and says just to keep it or give it to another person.

    Kitties loved it!

    By on

My nearly year old kitties love this. I worked it in with the Sensitive Digestion food and can already feel a difference in the coat of our big boy. They are on it fully now and happily eat it right up! So far, neither has urpped it up yet. Our little female did that occasionally on the other type. She's already got a very soft coat, I was hoping for "intestinal gratitude" and got it for her! I'll keep offering them this.

    not that great

    By on

not that great. my cat do not eat it well. I think it is over priced for a mushy food. maybe better if they make it in chunks.

Great food and my cat loves it

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Paris loves this food, I feed her this or Whole Earth and both are good for her. I also feed her Royal Canin Siamese for her dry food and her coat is silky and beautiful. Expensive food but it’s worth it otherwise you are compromising your kitty’s health with cheap cat food.

    Royal Canin food

    By on

They both really enjoy this food, I found that if you chill the can in the fridge 30-40 mins before eating they seem to enjoy it a bit more than just room temperature.
