Game changer

I was buying my 6 month old GSD puppy another brand of dog food which his stomach was having a hard time digesting. Royal Canin is more expensive but I used it about 6 years ago with my beloved GSD girl before she passed. She never had any digestive issues and always a gorgeous coat. The price had gone up about $40 since then hence the reason I tried another brand. With my pups issues I decided to commit to the change and bought Royal Canin large breed puppy food. Oh my goodness, my pup loves it!!! I was trying to gradually feed him this but he started refusing the other dog food and wanted only this. I had the bag in another spot and as I'm getting his food ready he would go over to the Royal Canin bag and sit and wait. His coat is already more shiny and he's having no more digestive issues. Royal Canin is more money but I love my pup so much and he loves it. It was one of three foods my vet also recommended so for me it is the right choice. I hope this helps anyone who may have any doubts about spending the extra money. It's definitely worth it!!!

Royal Canin large breed puppy food

Chewey service very good. Not happy that Royal Canin reduced from 35 pound to 30 pound bag and kept the price for the 35 pound bag under the guise of repackaging. Will not reorder.

Worst Food EVER

Everyone and their priest recommended this for my 9 month old pit/lab pup so I gave in and paid the price but now my boy is really paying the price. He stayed itching almost instantly and I thought it might be the transition from one food to another, everyone I talked to told me to give it a few weeks to a month. He continued to itch and scratch and be miserable and now we're on week 1 of detoxing him off this over priced mess of a food, he is still itching and even has raw bald spots and I feel like a crappy dog mom

He loves it!

Wow he loves it! (My 7 month old rescue German Shepard mix). My vet and trainer recommended Royal Canin. One of my pups classmates mom was using the kibble for treats for training. I asked what kind of kibble does your dog consider a treat???? Royal Canin! So I caved (normally I buy the value brands, not cheapest but in the middle) and I purchased and he loves it! He loves the puppy wet canned food too. I use it to stuff his kongs and freeze. He can't get enough of it. Never seen a dog so happy over dog food. And I can tell his poop doesn't smell as bad and his coat is way shinier. Really glad I tried it and will continue to buy. Worth the investment. Food is medicine applies to dogs too!

I Wanted My Puppy to Like This, He Had Other Ideas

I have a 3 month old dalmatian puppy. He is the pickiest eater that I have ever had. Knowing how much I am struggling to find the right dog food for him my vet highly recommended this, since Royal Canin is the gold standard. I wanted my pup to love it, but this is another food that he will not eat . This is going to be donated to a local rescue.

disappointed

Chose this food for our new puppies since that is what the breeder was using. Puppy arrived with yellowy orange soft poop which eventually just transitioned into yellowey orange diarrhea. Which prompted me to take a closer look at the ingredients.. the main ingredient is corn. Secondary is chicken by product. I guess it explains the color of the poop. I am very disappointed as I’ve always thought highly of royal canin.

First ingredient is corn

My dog loves this and has been eating it for almost a year. I should have checked the ingredients before buying because the first ingredient is corn. It also contains meat by-products. Why was I paying so much for a below average dog food? I’m switching to Instinct Raw and hoping he’ll like it just as much.
