Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

  • Adding some Royal Canin to the mix

I have been feeding The Honest Kitchen to my pups which I like a lot. Recent reviews about out of the ordinary dog food has been concerning vets lately and I've been urged to reconsider. I actually think THK whole grain chicken is a great choice but I'm compromising with the vet and am going half and half. Royal Canin is a company that has done some good research and has helped my pups and cats in the past, so I'm going with them to add to my THK choice. This weight care food is actually higher calorie than what I was feeding Sammy so I'm adjusting the amount he gets accordingly. He needs to lose about 4 lbs. so we'll see how this goes. He likes eating it topped on his THK. He's had no digestive I have been feeding The Honest Kitchen to my pups which I like a lot. Took Lady to the Vet yesterday. She was very pleased at our Lady's weight loss as she is an older dog, 9-1/2 yrs. Goal is for her to lose three more lbs. We will continue to give her Royal Canin Medium Weight Care Dry dry dog food. Great product and she LIKES IT TOO!

My dog would not eat any of the dog food I had bought for her. Then I tried Royal Canin and I have no problem with her finishing her food.

  • Food for the chubster!

Bought this for our obese border collie/heeled mix. She seems happy because she actually gets more volume of food, and we’re happy if she loses a few pounds. It’s a win/win!

  • Quite popular for my picky Border Collie

He likes this diet food quite well - but I do moisten it and shake some of your freeze dried beef food topper on it. He cleans his dish up at every meal.

  • Good Price for Big Bag

    By on

This food really helps with my dogs weight, they all like it and they can't even tell the difference when I changed out their old food for this one. The price for the big bag is definitely worth it, especially if you have multiple dogs.

  • My dog seems to feel full!

    By on

I have used Royal Canin's Veterinary diet "Satiety" in the past, and wanted to find a cheaper option without sacrificing quality and the fullness my dog feels on the food. I switched her over last month and have not noticed much of a difference! Before Royal Canin, my dog was constantly begging for food because I had to put her on a diet and lower her food intake. Now, she seems to be fuller for longer even though the portions are smaller. This diet is higher in fiber and protein than any other over the counter diet I have been able to find.
