Description

Small dogs need more than just a small kibble. They need more energy than big dogs, and they have a shorter and more intense growth period. Plus, they typically live longer than large dogs, and have a more finicky appetite. Whether we’re talking about their bodies or their lifestyle, small dogs are a little bit different from the rest of the canine world. Fortunately, Royal Canin Mini is distinctly different, too.

Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?

We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?

Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain grains?

Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.

How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?

Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?

Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. • Really dog food?

    By on

My dogs don't like this food at all. Plus it looks like cat food. Could it be a mistake? Previous bag looked different. It looks like star shaped Frisky's cat food.

Our breeder recommended Royal Canin Mini Adult Formula Dry Dog Food. It's excellent. I particularly like its tiny size and unique shape. Easy for our toy poodles to eat.

  • Best food out there

    By on

This is one of the best foods on the market. It does have grains, which none of my dogs have a problem with. My dogs like this food a little too much, so if I am free feeding, I cannot free feed with this food because they won't stop eating. If I want to leave food out during the day I use Nature's Recipe. It also has pumpkin which is a good source of fiber. For dinner I like to feed the Royal Canin. My dogs have never loved any food more than Royal Canin. I have also never had a problem with this food, ever. I would definitely recommend this brand.

My Bichon seems to prefer this food over other brands I have tried. I think it is the tiny bites.

  • Great for the slightly fussy adult dog

    By on

My dogs are 4 and 7. The younger has been prone to food allergies and the older can be picky. The Royal Canin has been the right fit for them. They enjoy the crunch and seem to be happy to have their meals. Worth the premium price. And of course Chewy makes it easy!
