We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

6 month old kitten
By HappyCats on Dec 30, 2020
I have 7 adult cats and one 6 month old cat. I have had her on Royal Canin kitten dry food since she was 2 months old. The kibble size is very small so she can eat without the fear (my fear) of her choking. She loves this. It smells pleasant to me and I believe in the ingredients of Royal Canin.

Perfect size for tiny mouths
By Tree on Dec 19, 2020
fed this, along with the canned formula, to my two kittens, through 4 months of age. They loved this and the morsels are really small so just the right size for tiny mouths and teeth.

Great food
By Sassybrat on Sep 24, 2020
Took in a stray between 8 months and one year. She was thin. To our surprise 3 weeks later she gave birth to 4 kittens. Wow. We were nervous. She was a small momma. We started feeding her this food and what a difference it made. It's for nursing moms and kittens. The kittens are now almost 7 weeks they love the food as well. You may think it's expensive but really it isn't. The quality is the best. I wouldn't have fed them anything else. Plus it saved the momma cat's life. She was able to nurse because this food is amazing... overall best food and very fair price.

perfect for kittens
By Katie on Sep 18, 2020
I’ve fostered a lot of orphaned kittens and mother and baby situations and this is a fantastic food! It’s highly recommended by my vet because Royal Canin does extensive tests into nutritional value and what the specific needs of each age group are. For we of my kittens they really take the the wet food version of this and the dry food seems to have a very moist aroma that makes it very appetizing more so than other dry foods we have tried. Can’t recommend enough even though it’s on the pricier side!

I bought this for a rescue that had taken in some very sick kittens. The kittens liked it.

I've been breeding 17 years and this is THE BEST food to feed kittens and pregnant and nursing moms. It has all the proper nutrients and it's also great if you feed along with the canned..

Poor quality brand at a premium price

A quick search on CatFoodDB and other objective sites show that this food -- and all Royal Canin products -- is substandard. Meat byproducts are extremely inferior in quality than meat or meat meal, but it is the first ingredient. It also includes filler with little or no nutritional value, as well as carrageenan and guar gum, which are additives that some experts claim may be possible contributors to certain medical conditions in cats. There's nothing like starting a kitten out on the wrong health foot! People -- and many vets -- believe the marketing, and I'm presuming some professionals are compensated for pushing it. Tasty kibble for picky eaters
By Kimikat on Oct 11, 2020
I have used this food in the past for babies and nursing moms, but as my senior cat got thinner, I decided to try him on it. He loves it and eats more enthusiastically than he has in a while.
