Transition Instructions
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way. We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase. We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food. We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers. We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

what is the next food to transition to at 4 months
Answer by • Dec 14, 2019
The Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Thin Slices in Gravy Wet Kitten Food and the Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Loaf in Sauce Canned Kitten Food available on our site, which are both suitable for kittens over 4 months.
This is expensive, but totally worth it for tiny kittens. I foster bottle feeders, and the transition to solid food is always an issue. With this food, you can make a gruel for syringe feeding if necessary, dilute with a little KMR and feed in a small bowl, or just let kittens start eating the Baby Cat out of a bowl when they're ready to make the transition.

Worth the money
Lucy was an unexpected stray kitten that showed up at my house. Four weeks later, she’s a healthy girl that has grown like a weed. It’s hard to imagine life without her.

Excellent food for young kittens & weaning
Wowow is this stuff expensive, and totally worth every penny. I'm a kitten foster and use this stuff exclusively for weaning and sick kittens. 100% recommend, and the kittens love it.

Product is excellent if you can get it!
I foster rescue kittens and Royal Canin Mother and Baby-Cat is the best for the little ones. I mix in some warm chicken broth, which they love. The only issue is getting the product. The 1-3 day delivery time is usually up to 5-6 days. I order about every one to two weeks.

Mother & Baby Cat Royal Canin
At 1st lick my Siberian Forest kitten loved this pate mousse eating a can and a half 3x daily and now tries to scratch up the mat his bowl of food sat on. It was as if he decided "I'm a big boy now and I don't want baby food". The way he would paw the rug around it like he was trying to bury it. At times he was gassy and I wondered if it was too rich or a reaction to chicken. Sometimes it was borderline diarrhea so it is a concern enough to bring him to the vet recently. A week ago he was neutered and his tastes have changed so maybe it is time to try another. He does enjoy the accompanying dry food and so does my senior cat. But Fang has always been an easy keeper and happily cleans the bowl of what Flavio won't finish so I am down to just 3 cans at most.
