We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.
How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?
Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Great Food
By Chris on Feb 11, 2021
love the food for my dog and the convenience of ordering from Chewy. I have a Shih Tzu she is white and her paws were changing color. Vet said it was too much protein and she was licking her paws. I tried different kinds and seems like when I changed to Royal Canin it worked paws look great and back to white

I decided to give this a try, I mixed it half and half with their old food, they loved it! I am hoping it will help keep them from throwing up which this bread is known to do.

Our Go To for Our Shih Tzu
By Peter on Sep 29, 2020
This is our go too for our Shih Tzu and it's been great. Quick Story, during puppy training the instructor asked everyone what they feed our dogs and when we said this, he said they win. Remember your dog eats the same thing every day. You wouldn't want to eat McD's every day.

She is not impressed
By Charlie on Aug 12, 2020
My Charlie doesn't like this food either. During her transition I offered it with a small amount of Greek yogurt for gut health. Initially I thought she was just being bratty and choosing not to eat as she is a very picky girl and the yogurt was no longer being offered. Until, I caught her sniffing the container her old food was stored in. After reading some of the reviews I agree the food is too pricey for it not to be of better organic quality. I must say the poop literally had no smell nor the urine. I will continue to offer this because it does as it say it will but only as a 50/50 mix with her old food.
