We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.
Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way. We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase. We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food. We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers. We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

Our teacup Pomeranian likes it and the tiny nuggets are great size for him since he is so tiny. This is the smallest nugget I have ever seen.
My Maltese puppy loves this food. He will bark at me while I’m getting it out of the bag. It has tiny bites that is easy for him to eat without choking. His coat is gorgeous. Excellent foof
I was planning to go with Royal Canin for my Maltese at the suggestion of Chloe's Vet. I decided to go ahead and get the puppy food and transition Chloe to that so that she was acclimated to the brand when she hits the 10 month mark for the adult food. I wanted to transition from Blue Buffalo slowly so I mixed the foods but right away she would only eat the Royal Canin and subsequently forced me to transition it quicker than anticipated as she would no longer eat the Blue Buffalo and fortunately she did not have any tummy or stool issues.
My 5 pound maltipoo puppy loves this food. She wouldn't eat science hill dry food. When I switched her over to this she immediately ate it. Also mix it with royal canin puppy wet food, nutro puppy wet food, or rachel ray wet food for variety if this helps.. my fur baby is picky and likes a variety of different food.
Fast shipping and excellent customer service! Royal Canin is excellent for my puppy’s needs!
My frenchie puppy loves this stuff! It's the perfect size and has great balance for his diet. He even enjoys it more than some of his treats! So we use this for feeding, snuffle mats, and training.
I bought this food bcuz it was wat my breeder had recommended. I hate to be the oddball on here but the only thing I can say good about this food is that it's kibble size is GREAT for my papillion pup & that she DOES eat it. Now for the down side. The first listed ingredient is chicken by product meal. Which means all subpar parts of the chicken, feet, beaks, bones everything u or I wouldn't eat. Corn, there is not one tooth in a carnivore's mouth meant to eat grains. Flour is another big "no-no". I'll give this to her as a starter for now as she's young but in conjunction w/a raw organ meat which will enhance her diet ten folds & change her when she's a lil older. I had a dog who had gotten kidney disease due to my ignorance of quality dog food. I changed her outcome just by changing her diet. I've done a ton of research on dog food due to my sick dog & learned quite a bit. I wish I could say better things about this puppy food.
I have a very small papillon mix puppy who was not eating the food the breeder used, and seemed uninterested in eating. I tried this kibble -- first of all the kibble pieces are TINY! but he really likes it, eats it up quickly, and is doing well on it (poop is good, coat is shiny, etc). These are also tiny enough pieces to use as training treats for my very small puppy.
Puppy food is high quantity and my puppy loves it!!!
The best choice for new pup owners. Takes the guess work out of what is good and what works for your new family addition.
