Raised my Great Dane on Royal Canin from puppy line to Junior line to adult line. Good food for their digestion and they enjoyed eating it. But Royal Canin has been unable to keep it consistently stocked for the last 18 months. I’ve stuck with it, frantically ordering it from other places, but I’m done running around to find it. Unfortunately, I will be switching to a brand that prioritizes the giant breeds because Royal Canin has been unable to do that.
Giant Breed Adult
Best ever, but hard to find. My 180lb. 2 year old St. Bernard won’t/ can’t eat anything else. All other kibbles just fall out of his jowels, and d wait for my Husky to come by for clean up. The giant breed giant size kibbles are perfect for my massive beast, and he loves them. We just need more availability. For two days we were out of this food, so I gave him large breed adult. He wouldn’t touch it. Keep the giant kibbles coming please
So I have a larger than normal Dobie. He is just under 100 pounds and we usually get him the Royal Canin Large breed kibble, which is about the size of a penny, well it was temporarily out of stock and I was recommended the giant size, it came in and WOW! It is HUUUUGE! I was actually nervous because my dobie has never eaten anything like this. Well he absolutely devoured this and is extremely excited when it is time to eat! I hope this returns to stock soon because I will definitely be switching my dobie over to this.
4 yr old male Great Dane loves RC Adult Giant & RC Adult Great Dane
My 4 year old male Great Dane Buddy loves RC Adult Giant & RC Adult Great Dane Dry Dog Food. Of course I still feed him a 6-7lb whole roasted Chicken every day & he also eats the RC Adult Giant (or RC Adult Great Dane when in stock) as well. He's a big, happy, healthy boy!
My mastiff loves these. All my dogs try to eat them but the side is great for even my bully who builds up tarter fast. The bigger size makes him chew more. It’s a great food.
my Spanish Mastiff loves it
My 210lb Spanish mastiff is a super picky eater. We switched him to this adult food and the kibble size is perfect for him. Other “giant” breed formulas have such small kibble which would get caught in his jowls. The kibble size was shocking at first but he eats it all every time! Highly recommend if you have a Mastiff.
Great for BIG BREEDS
My Mastiff and Rotties love this food ! I laughed when I read about a St. Bernard struggling to eat cause ... I have 2 senior Chihuahuas in there 20’s and they demand 1 kibble each of this food added with there regular diet and HAVE NO PROBLEM crunching this kibble up ! To funny .
They all love it!
My great dane has a very sensitive stomach and nearly everything else I had tried would give him either horrible (explosive) diarrhea or he would be constantly gassy & have anal gland issues. I finally tried this and it has been amazing for him! I've also noticed he sheds significantly less and his coat is just overall healthier. With other foods his anal glands would act up and he'd have this horrible smell coming from them almost constantly. But on this food, we haven't had any issues with that. I also have 3 others dogs (mini poodle, golden retriever, yorkie) and they all seem to love this food as well so I've started using it as a treat for them. The kibble size is HUGE but even my 6lb yorkie doesn't seem to mind (though one piece of kibble for him is pretty much an entire meal)!
Finally I found the Giant breed food that is for giant breeds.
I always thought that Royal Canin was just pushed by vets. Until my Female Great Dane died in April of this year. Her heart just stopped and she had holes and enlargement. I gave her the best foods available and come to find out. That because each dog breed is very different a one size fits all is impossible when giving a giant breed large breed food. I now have a 4 year old English Mastiff and my Male Great Dane (that is on Royal Canin Great Dane) and wanted to make sure they are on a giant breed food tailored their size and breed. I did hours and hours or research and chose Royal Canin Giant Breed for my mastiff, Royal Canin Great Dane for my Dane and Royal Canin French bull Dog for, I bet you can't guess my French Bulldog for a variety of reasons. 1. Made and trialed for giant breeds and their individual make up. 2. The Kibble size is actually giant. 3. Chicken by product meal contains the WHOLE PREY and when broken down has the highest protein levels available. 4. Grain is used and has to be. With a grain free diet giant breeds can and will develop canine dilated cardiomyopathy. Which is wared about by FDA. 5. Royal Canin has and continues trials and is rarely at all formulated. yes a few blends are formulated very very few. 6. You get what you pay for in some instances this being on of them. and with Orijen, Essence, and countless others you do not. Please do not be fooled by words such as organic or healthy, or my favorite natural. these are product marketing. Especially earthy bags. Orijen uses a lot of muscle meats that are high in water content but when cooked at high temperatures to prepare the dog food for completion will loose significant nutrients that we barley there because the whole pray was not used. 7. yes dogs are descendants of wolves. However my English mastiff is a couch potato and does not need the extra ingredients of a German Shepherd will require. 8, I am very sick and tired of the currant 20 somethings thinking corporations like Royal Canin and Hills are not transparent . Where are the trials babe? Where are the trials? just because a company is small does not mean Grandma Sue and Uncle Joe are cooking your dogs kibble in thier off grid cottage in the woods where they are farming all the products. DO NOT CARE AS MUCH AS YOU THINK THEY DO. 9. The smell is amazing like Turkey dinner and the French know how to cook baby. and as much as this word makes me cringe the Kibble is moist there I said it moist. 10. Use the brain god gave you. research the product. You like reviews? that's cool but research so you know all the facts. 11. Better believe I love that Zip Lock bag. Your girl be keeping that kibble fresh. Dog food that goes bad can have ill effects on your Giant . you want clean up liquid loafs at 3 am be my guest. kibble that is fresh is best. 12. I love the name because giants are King. We are extremely pleased with Royal Canin for my English Mastiff, Great Dane, and our Frenchie. promise you will not be disappointed Canada you never disappoint.
Great Dane loves this brand
My female Great Dane weighs about 158 pounds and has been eating this brand since she was a puppy. We transitioned to this one at around 2 and she loves it. The large size makes her slow down and she has not had any digestive issues. The vet always comments on how great she looks.
